There is nothing quite like the feeling of downloading a massive, 500-mod Collection and having it boot up perfectly on the very first try. To help make that dream a reality a lot more often, we've given Collections a massive under-the-hood overhaul in Vortex 2.4!
Alongside that, we've added some highly requested features to make managing your downloads a total breeze. Here is a quick look at what’s new.
📦 Collections, Upgraded
Massive Collections will no longer get stuck at 90-something percent! Installs now track completion reliably, meaning you won't be left guessing or accidentally miss the optional-mods step. Once your Collection finishes installing, all its plugins will be correctly sorted and automatically switched on. Plus, optional mods now display their download and install progress right on the Collection screen and in the final summary.
📥 Keeping Downloads Simple
To make it even clearer what mods you're adding to your games, downloads will now show their actual, friendly names instead of confusing temporary filenames, and you can easily clear out any downloads that get stuck.
The Health Checker has also had an upgrade, letting you know when a mod requirement is downloaded but not yet installed. Even better, it'll now give you the option to install those requirements locally.
✨ UI Polish & Game Tweaks
We’ve refreshed the Games page and your "Recently Managed" dashboard tile with snazzy new portrait cover art to match the main Nexus Mods website. Health checks are also a lot more subtle now as we've ditched the constant success pop-ups in favour of a clean 'last updated' timestamp.
Finally, Fallout 4 VR players will now correctly see their light (ESL) plugins, the classic system tray icon has returned, and we've squashed several minor layout bugs across the app. Now, speaking of bugs…
