Vortex 2.1 is here!
Look, while we know your Paralives neighbourhood is already absolute perfection (we see you meticulously placing every single clutter item), we sadly can't mod away all your real-life problems. But what we can fix, we absolutely are! Starting with a whole bunch of brilliant changes to Vortex!
We've been working under the hood to bring you some massive quality-of-life improvements. Our goal for 2.1 is to make managing your mods smoother, faster, and significantly less prone to interruptions.
📥 The New Downloader
Downloads now run at your full connection speed, roughly 2x faster than before. The new implementation is slimmer and better tested, and if your connection drops or you close Vortex mid-download, it picks up exactly where it left off.
🔑 No More Random Logouts
Getting unexpectedly kicked out in the middle of a modding session is incredibly frustrating. Moving forward, Vortex will refresh your Nexus Mods login in the background before it expires, keeping you signed in and ready to go.
🔔 Never Miss Notifications
Have you ever looked away for a second only to miss a crucial notification pop-up? Notifications that require your input (like updates or configurations) will no longer vanish on their own. They'll wait until you act on them or manually dismiss them.
🛠️ Clearer Errors & A Cleaner Startup
We've streamlined how Vortex starts up, meaning your first launch will work perfectly even on a flaky internet connection. We've also completely overhauled our error messages so if anything unexpected happens, you know exactly why.
🐛 Spot a Bug? Let Us Know!
We've done a lot of bug-squishing in this update, but if you happen to spot a wild one that managed to escape, please let us know! You can report any pesky issues here — just remember to attach your Vortex log file so our dev team can figure out exactly what went wrong.
Got a burning question, some general feedback, or just want to chat about the latest tweaks? Come hang out with us in the Vortex channel on the official Nexus Mods Discord.
