Prelude v3.3.8
This removes the China, Hong Kong and Taiwan flags added in v3.3.7 a few hours ago.
They should never have shipped. The country patch makes your console report a country code, but it cannot create a flag image the game does not have — and MK8D does not have those three flags. Confirmed by @alyeri, who read the country table out of the game to build the original 110 patches in the first place.
The mistake was mine, and it was a reasoning error rather than a coding one: from "I can generate the patch for any two-letter code" I concluded "any country can be added". Those only meet if the game has the texture, and I published without checking. The person who had the answer was one message away.
Nothing else changes. Everything else from v3.3.7 stays:
- Updating Prelude refreshes your SD card — previously, updating the
.nroleft the old patches on your card, so Splatoon 3 failed exactly as before and the update looked useless. - Splatoon 3 info section — which patches are on your card, whether DNS redirection is on, where the files live.
- Mario Tennis Aces, ARMS and Splatoon 2 now have explicit DNS entries. They relied on a wildcard that some Atmosphère builds ignore, so on those consoles the games silently failed to connect.
- Country flags are built on the console, no download — so no more "network error" when setting one. This is kept: it removes a real failure on the 110 countries that do exist.
- Flag menu works with the stick, not just the D-pad.
On issue #17
@ymzhen — your request was reasonable and we tried. It cannot be done with an ExeFS patch: adding a flag means adding artwork to the game itself, which is a different kind of work entirely. Sorry for the false start, and thank you for reporting it.
Installation: copy nextendo.nro to /switch/ on your SD card, or use the built-in updater.
After updating, apply Nextendo mode once and fully power off — not sleep. Atmosphère only reads these files at boot.
