Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds can now go online on the Nextendo Network from a console.
- SEGA's game API and CDN (
prod-api.sora-online.net,prod-cdn.sora-online.net) now point to the Nextendo server. - Epic's TURN relay (
turn.rtcp.on.epicgames.com) now points to the Nextendo TURN server, which hands out the
relay credentials races need when two players can't connect directly. - Epic Online Services sign-in, lobbies and messaging use the existing shared
api.epicgames.deventry. - No ExeFS patches are needed.
What works online: SEGA (App) friends, Nintendo Switch friends who play the game, lobby invites, joining by
Lobby ID, Friend Match and matchmaking (including cancelling a search).
What you need to do
- Update Prelude to v4.0.18.
- Select Nextendo mode again after updating, so the new hosts lines are written.
- Make sure your console is linked to your Nextendo account. CrossWorlds signs you in with that account; an
unlinked console is refused.
Known issues
- The hosts file is global under Nextendo mode, so the TURN line also sends other Epic Online Services games'
P2P relay traffic to the Nextendo TURN server. Direct connections are unaffected. - A console and an emulator player who are Nintendo Switch friends may not see each other as CrossWorlds
players in the Nintendo Switch Friends tab yet. SEGA friends, invites and Lobby IDs work across platforms. - Races can still drop right after the countdown when a player's frame rate is very low.
