Prelude v4.0.0 — Nintendo Switch firmware 23.0.1
New: Nextendo now works on firmware 23.0.1.
Firmware 23.x rebuilt the console's ssl module, so the certificate patch Prelude installs no longer matched it. The console then rejected the Nextendo certificate and online play failed with 2123-0308. This release adds the patch for the 23.0.1 build.
Who this is for
- Firmware 23.0.1 only. 23.0.0 is not covered (it has a different build of the module). 22.5.0 and earlier work as before.
- It needs Atmosphère 1.12.1 or newer (1.12.0 does not redirect the new DNS resolver of 23.x). If you boot through hekate, use 6.5.4 or newer.
- This is a fix for people who have already updated. If you are on 22.5.0 and everything works, there is no need to update the console.
If something crashes after updating to 23.x
Atmosphère modules built for older versions can fail on 23.x, usually with a fatal error naming a program id. Update the one named, or disable it by renaming its atmosphere/contents/<id>/flags/boot2.flag. Two we hit:
- MissionControl (
010000000000bd00): update to 0.16.0. - sLaunch replaces the HOME menu and the eShop applet, so the eShop button opens its own menu instead of the Nextendo page; on 23.0.1 its menu also crashes (upstream issue). Use the stock menu if you need the eShop.
Tested and not tested
- Tested on one console (23.0.1, Atmosphère 1.12.1, emuMMC): the browser opens and online play connects.
- Not tested: every game, other console models, and 23.0.0.
- If a game still fails on 23.0.1, please open an issue with the error code and the game.
