Summary
Six weeks of work since v2.8.8: a sharper Auto Answer, Visual Answers, Phone Mirror 2.0, Calendar sync, embeddings and rerankers, and a refreshed look.
What's New
- Auto Answer (Beta): Answers now arrive sooner, and questions meant for someone else on the call are left alone. Off by default; turn it on in Settings → General.
- Visual Answers: System designs, flows and charts, drawn live inside the answer. Ask in any mode, in English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese or Japanese.
- Phone Mirror 2.0: Your phone follows the meeting with the live transcript and answers as they stream in, and can send photos back to the desktop. Set it up in Settings → Sync.
- Calendar sync: Connect your calendar and each meeting is linked to its event, notes name the people who spoke, and a follow-up email is drafted when you ask. In Settings → Calendar.
- Embeddings and rerankers: Choose what powers search over your files and past meetings, from Gemini, OpenAI, Voyage AI and Jina AI to local models that run on your device. In Settings → Retrieval.
- Refreshed look: Liquid Glass controls, a new startup splash and smoother motion in every window.
Improvements
- Answers stick closer to your material. A checking pass removes claims your documents do not support, and a résumé, job description or reference file that fits is read whole.
- Coding answers match the size of the question, so a quick ask gets a short answer.
- When a provider fails, the overlay says why in plain words, then tries your next provider and tells you which one answered.
- Speech-to-text responds faster on Deepgram, Soniox and OpenAI.
Fixes
- Speech-to-text: Google no longer goes silent when Chinese is selected, Soniox recovers after an idle stretch, and ElevenLabs returns text at every pause.
- Overlay: Clicks on the pill, the expand button and the model picker no longer get lost.
- Auto Answer: A prepared answer that was never shown now appears, and your own speech no longer silences the answers that follow.
- Shortcuts: A shortcut the system refuses no longer crashes the app, and Natively no longer takes Cmd/Ctrl+R and Shift+Arrow from other apps.
- Windows: The screenshot cropper no longer steals focus, and the extra taskbar buttons are gone.

More features
- Reads images: Every model gets an Auto, On or Off setting for screenshots. On Auto, Natively works out whether a model can read images and stops sending screenshots to one that cannot. In Settings → AI Providers.
- Direct Assist (Beta): Sends what you typed, said or captured straight to the model, unprocessed, together with the meeting transcript and your reference files. In Settings → AI Providers.
- Background Model: Pick a second, faster model for Auto Answer, quick decisions and Fast Response Mode, separate from the Active Model that writes your answers. In Settings → AI Providers.
- New AI providers: Google Antigravity, Fluxion, OpenRouter, 9Router and AgentRouter join the list, and Codex gains GPT-6 Astra and GPT-5.6 Sol. Auto Answer now also works when a gateway is your only provider.
- On-device speech: Apple Speech needs no API key on macOS 26 and later, and the Parakeet TDT local model covers 25 languages. Both are in Settings → Audio.
- Welcome and shortcut tour: A fresh install opens on a welcome screen, then a three-step tour where you try the main shortcuts for real.
- Usage statistics (on by default): Reports which features are used and how often, linked to your install and to your trial or account if you have one. Never what you say, see or type. Turn it off under Advanced in Settings → General.
More improvements
- Speed: Answers start appearing sooner, the wait shows Thinking... instead of a blinking dot, and the settings and model-picker windows use less memory.
- Settings: Calendar, Sync, About and Setup & Help are rebuilt. Setup & Help shows real recordings and new guides, and speech providers gain model pickers.
- Updates: From this version on, updates download only what changed, and the update card shows a short summary with a link to the full notes.
- Permissions: The permissions card is redesigned on macOS, and Windows gets the same card with a guide to its microphone setting.
- Overlay: The model picker lists models by provider, manual resizing is smooth, and the settings dropdown has room to read. Provider notices are translated into Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
- Shortcuts: A Global shortcuts switch in Settings → Keybinds. On Windows, Protect Natively shortcuts in Settings → General stops a shortcut also typing into the app underneath.
- Motion and colour: Popups and cards open with a genie motion, which you can turn off with Genie animation under Advanced in Settings → General. A blue accent replaces the old periwinkle.
- Plans and trial: Plans shows your usage as a percentage, and returning users with no key and no licence can start the free trial once more.
More fixes
- Speech and audio: A missing Google key can no longer close the app, local speech no longer leaves one side of the conversation untranscribed, and a system-audio stream that stops mid-meeting is reported instead of failing silently.
- Overlay: The resize handles no longer cover Send, and the chat follows a streaming answer until you scroll away.
- Answers: Groq reasoning text no longer leaks into the overlay, Claude models that reject a temperature setting no longer fail, and a follow-up such as "show it in Python" keeps the current coding problem.
- Chat and sessions: A typed question during a live meeting now sees what was said, and an answer still in progress when you switch mode or stop a meeting is no longer saved into the next session.
- Modes: The Real-time prompt is now followed in every mode, and the reference-files switch is honoured in interview modes.
- Search: Reference files are searched by meaning, not only by keyword, on installs with no API key, and a damaged meeting index repairs itself.
- Providers: Groq and DeepSeek moved to the models those providers serve today. Codex uses your codex login session and no longer switches provider without telling you, and a key you removed can no longer come back.
- Meeting notes: Chinese meeting PDFs no longer come out as boxes, and renaming a meeting updates the Home list.
- Windows and macOS: On Windows, the launcher's close button quits when there is no tray icon. On macOS, the Dock no longer shows two or three Natively icons.
- Updates: The update card no longer comes up empty when it cannot find the release notes.
Technical
- Electron 43.7.7, Vite 7, React 19.3, sharp 0.35.5 (security update) and electron-builder 26.17.0.
- Building from source needs Node 22.13 or newer.
macOS Installation (Signed Build)
Download the correct architecture .dmg or .zip file for your device (Apple Silicon or Intel).
- For Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4): Download the
arm64build. - For Intel Macs: Download the
x64build.
Open the downloaded file, drag Natively to your Applications folder, and launch it.
⚠️ Windows Installation (Unsigned Build)
When running the installer on Windows, you might see a "Windows protected your PC" warning from Microsoft Defender SmartScreen saying it prevented an unrecognized app from starting.
Since this is an unsigned build, this is expected. You can safely ignore it by clicking More info and then Run anyway.
See CHANGELOG.md for the detailed list of changes.
