Added
- Added compact per-device options in the picker for aliases, default selection, startup connection, and automatic reconnection.
- Added a direct Help entry to the tray menu.
- Added an updated animated README demonstration, hosted as a GitHub attachment outside the source repository.
Changed
- Consolidated general preferences into a compact Settings page and retained Help in the same window.
- Kept device selection and device options at a shared localized width, with short transitions that respect Windows animation preferences.
- Added disconnect feedback on device hover and keyboard focus, and clarified the separate reconnect action.
- Open Settings after the picker has closed and focus the back button when entering device options.
- Made snapshot lifetimes explicit for static analysis while retaining owned string conversions.
- Reworked device session ownership, serialized operations, retry cancellation, and suspend/resume handling with native regression coverage.
- Consolidated the installation, troubleshooting, contributor, and installer documentation.
- Simplified the bootstrapper source layout and reused the application icon directly.
Fixed
- Embed the validated MSIX bundle in the offline installer instead of requiring a single-architecture
.msixfile. - Align the window-placement reset action with the Settings switches.
- Derive disconnect hover feedback from the button's actual pointer/focus state and remove the competing device-name tooltip.
- Handle Windows close/end-session messages before the hidden host window and XAML dispatcher are destroyed.
- Retain the settings-window state through synchronous close callbacks, fixing a null dereference reproduced during a package update with Settings open.
- Replace the narrow Settings navigation pane reported to truncate Chinese labels with the compact Settings/Help layout (issue #19).
Removed
- Removed the duplicate device-management page from Settings and the outdated README preview.
- Removed repository-tracked performance benchmark harnesses, archived benchmark results, and Windows Sandbox installer helpers. Local experiments are now ignored.
- Removed unused developer helpers and generated documentation and installer image assets.
Known limitations
- A connected device may occasionally produce no audio, including after a playback pause. Use the circular-arrow Reconnect action to recover. This remains under investigation; 0.9.0 does not claim to fix it (#1).
- Windows may ignore per-app output routing for A2DP sink audio. The app does not provide an output-device selector (#13).
Installation
Recommended: Download and run AudioPlaybackConnector2-WebSetup.exe.
For offline installation on x64 or ARM64, use the versioned AudioPlaybackConnector2-Setup-0.9.0.exe.
Both installers work per-user without administrator rights. Windows SmartScreen may warn because the setup executables are not yet code-signed.
For App Installer, direct MSIX bundle installation, certificates, and dependency packages, see the installation guide.
The MSIX bundle is signed with a self-signed certificate. The setup executables are not yet code-signed.
