v1.6.9: Submenus, panel separators and drag and drop

New

  • Groups inside a group open like a submenu. Click one and its panel opens right next to the first one, which stays open. Click it again or press Escape to close it; launching an app from it closes both. (#5)
  • Separators inside a panel. The new Separator button in the group editor adds a line across the panel, with an optional title in the middle, to split its apps into sections. Drag the editor's rows to put it where you want. (#3)
  • Drag and drop. Drop files, folders and shortcuts from File Explorer or the desktop onto the group editor, where a line shows where they go, or onto an open panel to add them to that group. With open on hover on, drag a shortcut to the group's taskbar icon, wait for the panel and drop it there. (#4)

Fixed

  • The cursor no longer flickers over the taskbar with open on hover. The app kept restarting its background panel while the cursor was on the taskbar, and Windows showed the loading cursor each time. It now starts without that cursor and no longer restarts in a loop. (#6)

Thanks to @mihha and @k-sven for asking for these and for the clear reports.

Install

Download TaskbarGroupsFluent-Setup.exe below and run it. If you already have it, the app offers the update when it opens. TaskbarGroupsFluent-Setup-Offline.exe carries the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime inside, for PCs without internet.
