Bloodborne PC Windows Port v0.7.2

This release introduces dynamic Live FPS Patching with real-time target switching and high-framerate physics stabilization, eliminates clipping, cloth flutter, and other game physics problems above 30 FPS, hardens crash defenses against codes 139 and 140 across all regional game releases, and resolves texture downloading stalls and driver format rejections.

Improvements

  • Dynamic Live FPS Patching & High-Framerate Physics Stabilization (a7cbfae)

    • Replaced static framerate XML patches with an in-engine dynamic clock hook and deltatime scaler, enabling arbitrary target caps (30, 60, 90, 120, Uncap) that can be changed on the fly without restarting the game.
    • Resolved player clipping, jitter, and collision desync when riding moving platforms at high frame rates.
    • Implemented a cloth simulation frametime stabilizer to eliminate Havok cloth fluttering, mesh stretching, and vertex spikes during frametime fluctuations.
    • Clamped physics deltatime scaling to maintain consistent jump arcs, attack timings, and gravity above locked 30 FPS.
  • Automatic Patch Conflict Prevention & Safety Controls (a7cbfae)

    • Added mutual exclusivity enforcement: enabling "Live FPS Patching" automatically disables and locks conflicting legacy patches (such as FPS++, Sprint Fix, and static framerate XML patches) in both the launcher UI and backend.
    • Integrated an executable layout validation check on startup that safely falls back to standard XML patches if an unsupported or modified binary signature is detected.
    • Updated launcher dropdown labels to clearly show the active framerate mode (Live Hook vs XML Patch).

Fixes

  • Crash Code 140 & Multi-Region Guard Activation (f8f450b)

    • Expanded Bloodborne v1.09 signature detection to recognize European (CUSA00207), Asian (CUSA03023), and Japanese (CUSA00900) regional releases, as well as 01.00 base disc param.sfo dumps.
    • Activated all five VEH runtime recovery guards (asset structure copy replay, temporary heap arena fallback, bucket allocator refill, 16-byte allocator, and 40-byte allocator) for all regional copies, preventing NULL destination pointer faults (vmovaps [r13+0x3A0], xmm0) and exit code 140 crashes.
    • Closes #175 and reported Discord crash issues.
  • Vulkan Driver Crash Code 139 & Command Chunk Lifetime (f8f450b)

    • Fixed premature chunk retirement in Scheduler::RecordData that caused mid-batch chunk splitting in Pipeline::BindResources and Rasterizer::BindVertexBuffers.
    • Ensured descriptor set writes and vertex buffer bindings remain in the same chunk as their recording commands, eliminating use-after-free and driver NULL pointer dereferences ([rcx+0x130] in nvoglv64.dll).
    • Closes reported Discord crash issues.
  • Item Texture Loading Stalls & Watchdog Freezes (f8f450b)

    • Batched TextureCache::ProcessDownloadImages() into a single GPU barrier flush and fence synchronization instead of synchronizing per texture, eliminating multi-second renderer hangs and watchdog freezes when opening inventory menus or loading item icons.
    • Added slot allocation guards before indexing slot_images during texture lookup and overlap resolution to protect against use-after-free during texture evictions.
    • Closes #176.
  • Vulkan BC6H Compressed Format Storage Support (f8f450b)

    • Added an automatic fallback check that strips eStorage from block-compressed images if the host physical device rejects STORAGE_IMAGE usage on Bc6HUfloatBlock, preventing initialization errors on AMD RDNA, Intel, and NVIDIA GPUs.
    • Closes #174.

Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • GPU: Vulkan 1.3 capable graphics card (NVIDIA GTX 10-series+, AMD RX 400-series+, Intel Arc)
  • CPU: 64-bit x86 processor supporting AVX 1.0 or SSE4.2 (older CPUs without BMI1 are supported)
  • Game Dump: Decrypted Bloodborne PS4 dump (CUSA03173, CUSA00207, CUSA03023, CUSA00900, version 1.09) with eboot.bin and sce_module/libc.prx

Installation

  1. Extract the release archive to a folder.
  2. Run BloodborneLauncher.exe.
  3. Confirm your decrypted 1.09 eboot.bin path on the Home dashboard.
  4. Pick your GPU Adapter, game language, graphics settings, and controls.
  5. Click Launch Bloodborne.

Updating from v0.7.1

  1. Copy the USER folder from \bloodborne_pc_windows_port_v0.7.1_release\user to \bloodborne_pc_windows_port_v0.7.2_release

In-Game Hotkeys

  • F1: Lock or unlock the mouse cursor.
  • F4: Toggle the in-game cheat/tweaks menu.
  • Insert or L3 + R3: Open the in-game settings menu.
  • F11: Show or hide the FPS and performance display.

Troubleshooting

  • If the game freezes on startup or crashes when moving between areas, set prep_workers=1 or prep_workers=2 in the launcher or bbport.ini. Higher values use more CPU threads at once, which can overwhelm 4-core and 6-core processors.
  • If the game crashes during intense combat, cap your frame rate to 60 FPS in the launcher. Higher frame rates work well on high-end hardware, but they increase physics and particle load.
  • Avoid enabling conflicting frame rate mods at the same time. If you run into issues, try launching with only "Skip Intro" enabled first.
  • If you notice visual glitches or crashes after an update, delete the cache folder in user/cache/CUSA03173/ (or your regional CUSA folder) so the game can rebuild shaders cleanly.

Note

  • When reporting a crash, please click "Copy Diagnostics" on the launcher's Home tab and attach the latest bblauncher.log, and crash log from the out folder.
