Test build for v0.5.15. Offered in the launcher only with Offer test builds ticked.
Network protocol 26: this build plays online only with other test.12 players. It can't join v0.5.14 players or the public dedicated servers (they run v0.5.14), and they won't see its lobbies. Everyone in a match needs this build.
Bring your own game: no game data is included.
What's in it
Everything in v0.5.15-test.10 (Friends, Discord, the 48 kHz sound and Reset sound), plus:
Force pull (new)
Point an empty hand at a gun, ammo, armour or a key up to 3.5 m away and squeeze the grip: it flies to your hand.
- Keep squeezing and a gun lands in that hand, ready to fire. Let go while it flies and it goes to your inventory.
- Disarm: point at the gun in a guard's hand and squeeze; he lets go and it flies to you (co-op guards too, not Horde).
- Catch guns as shot guards drop them, and live grenades, yours or anyone's. A caught grenade is yours: throw it back by letting go, and its kills are yours. Hold it too long and it goes off in your hand.
- Held items: armour or ammo you're full on stays in your hand, and drops or throws when you let go.
- A gold glow, a ring and a line show what you're pointing at, and your watch glows while something flies.
- Online: everyone sees the gun fly to your hand. If two players pull the same gun, the first one gets it.
- New options (launcher Gestures page and the pause panel's VR tab): Force pull, Disarm, Pull visuals and Auto pickup (off: walking over guns leaves them, so you grab or pull them; ammo, armour and keys still collect).
Hands
- The empty gun hand closes on the grip (GoldenEye X hands), even with a gun in the off hand, and shows no crosshair. The trigger still punches.
- The watch laser in the gun hand counts as an empty hand: it can pull and grab, and still fires at the watch.
- The rifle butt (Unarmed while carrying the sniper rifle) can be held with both hands, and hits twice as hard that way. It doesn't force pull.
Third person (flat screen, solo) — #230, step 1
A third-person camera for the flat-screen mode, in the launcher. VR third person comes later.
Co-op
- Guards' grenades and rockets now fly on every player's headset, not only the host's: before, the other players saw just the blast. You can catch a guard's grenade and throw it back.
Fixes
- Guards at a distance: their guns no longer show solid ahead of their faded-in bodies, and with Ragdolls on a guard no longer pops in solid as he falls.
- Jungle (XBLA models): every texture was drawn at half its picture. The ladder's right rail is back, and the plants show their whole sprites.
- Streets (XBLA models): the jeep, lorry and Zil stand in place without N64 wheels, and the three blank posters show their pictures.
- The tank you drive no longer shakes against your view.
- Bullet holes and Bond's face in third person (original textures) no longer turn to garbage: the level's texture memory ran out.
- The flat-screen crosshair could turn into a grey grid for a whole session; a stale texture is now forgotten when its memory is reused.
Dedicated servers
No server downloads in this build, and test.12 can't join the v0.5.14 servers (protocol 26).
Known issues
- Online force pull and the co-op grenade sync haven't been played on two headsets yet. Reports welcome.
- Everything listed in v0.5.14's notes still applies.
Install
Update from the launcher (Offer test builds on), or sideload GoldenEye-VR-v0.5.15-test.12.apk over your install; your ROM folder and settings are kept.
