GoldenEye VR v0.5.13
Co-op missions: the host's scripted world now reaches every headset. Control's
glass breaks, Train's escape countdown and explosions, and the other
scripted mission effects across the campaign show up for teammates too,
not just the host.
Co-op
- Countdowns and gas: the mission countdown (Train, Silo, Statue,
Streets, Cradle, Aztec and others) shows, hides, runs and stops on every
headset from the host's clock. Gas spreading and the blast sequence follow
the host too. Your own watch, pause and damage display stay your own
(PR #217). - Scripted world effects: objects the mission destroys, moves or changes
(Train's escape, Control's glass, Surface 2, Jungle, Statue and the rest),
monitor screens, the sky change, Aztec's rocket, script sounds and music are
now seen and heard by teammates. Each headset replays the effect from its
own copy of the mission; nothing runs that the other headset sent as code
(PR #217). - Glass: a pane the host's side breaks, by script or by a guard's
bullet, breaks on every headset, and a player joining later finds it broken
(PR #217). - Explosions: a scripted blast happens once on every headset, comes from
the host, and no longer removes a grenade a teammate has just thrown nearby
(PR #217). - Joining midway: a late joiner gets the mission's lasting changes
(destroyed, moved or changed objects, monitors, the sky). Past sounds and
music are not replayed (PR #217).
Testing and known issues
- This needs two headsets and has not been played on two yet; it passed the
native packet and handler tests and runs on one Quest 3 without problems.
Please report how Control, Train and a mid-mission join go in co-op
(#216). - Everyone in a co-op game needs v0.5.13 for these effects. An older
teammate can still join, but sees the mission as before. - The blast sequence (for example when a countdown runs out) goes off around
the host only. - A player joining midway sees objects the mission already destroyed break
as they arrive, and Aztec's rocket launches again from the pad. - Scripted vehicles and aircraft still move on each headset by themselves.
- Everything listed under v0.5.7's known issues still applies.
Update and multiplayer compatibility
Download GoldenEye-VR-v0.5.13.apk or use Update in the headset launcher.
Updating over an earlier release keeps your settings. This APK contains no
GoldenEye, XBLA or Perfect Dark game data; use your existing game files.
Android version: 0.5.13; versionCode: 93; network protocol: 23.
The new co-op messages are ignored by older builds: v0.5.7 to v0.5.13 play
together; v0.5.6 and older can't join.
