GoldenEye VR v0.3.1: multiplayer fixes and debug reports
Bring your own game. This APK contains no GoldenEye game data. You need a ROM of the USA cartridge you own. Installing over v0.3.0 keeps your ROM and settings.
Fixed
- Crashes when respawning or joining a running match, and when picking up a gun in an online match.
- Lobby ready and character selections from clients. A v0.3.1 host can read the packets sent by v0.3.0 clients, but everyone should update to receive the crash fixes.
- Music failing to recover after a death during warmup.
- Ownerless explosions crediting the host with a kill instead of recording a suicide.
- An internet join being interrupted by the direct-IP Connect control.
New
- Send debug log in the launcher, beneath the build date and time. You can add a note and send the game log, available crash data, player name, and headset model to the project support address. Text logs have network addresses and connection details redacted. A previous native crash can offer the report page on launch.
- The SCREEN heading shows the grab and resize instructions as a tooltip. Update notices now appear above Cheats.
Install
- From v0.1.13 or newer: use the Update button in the launcher when v0.3.1 appears.
- Otherwise: install
GoldenEye-VR-v0.3.1.apkover your current version with SideQuest. It is signed with the same release key. See the install guide.
Testing and known issues
Gun pickup, solo online play, self-kill respawn, and warmup music recovery were checked on a Quest 3. A full debug report sent from the headset arrived with its log attachment. Friends readying in a lobby, mid-match joins with two headsets, ownerless explosion kill credit, and online post-match results still need multi-headset testing. Multiplayer remains experimental.
