This release brings custom fields to BookLogr, letting you attach your own metadata to books, along with a new Notes & Quotes feed on profiles, author filtering in the library, Italian language support and various bug fixes and performance improvements.

Highlights

Custom fields

You can now define your own custom metadata fields (text, number, date, selection, boolean) and attach them to your books. Fields are managed from the Settings page, and their values can be edited from the add/edit book modals and are displayed right on the book details page.

Notes & Quotes feed

Profiles now include a Notes & Quotes feed, giving visitors a single place to browse all of the public notes and quotes across your library.

Filter library by author

The library can now be filtered by clicking on an authors name, making it much easier to find books in your collection.

• Improved search performance by batching ISBN lookups into a single query instead of querying once per external result.
• Search results are now cached client-side to avoid redundant requests when repeating the same query.
• Book details are now cached client-side, avoiding a redundant request when revisiting a book page.
• The library page is now cached client-side per tab/sort/order/page, avoiding redundant requests when switching between tabs.
• Ratings are now included when importing books from BookLogr CSV and Goodreads formats.
• The Add to Reading List button is now disabled until the book title has finished loading.
• The Edit Book modal has been redesigned to match the Add Book modal and now supports editing description and reading status in addition to title, author, and total pages.
• Removed the trailing zero from book rating displays for better card layout spacing.
• Removed the ability to set a custom created_on date when creating or editing a note via the API.
