Important Notice:

3.5.0 will be the final major GShade update based on ReShade 4. Minor updates will still be released as-needed for any pressing issues or bugs. The next major update, GShade 4.0, will be released when a full rebase of GShade's features on ReShade 5 has been completed.

As this process may take some time due to ReShade 5 being a near-complete rewrite of the software, I thank you for your patience, your souls, and for using GShade.

Major Changes:

  • Out-of-the-box UI saving is now possible in The Sims 4 using FFKeepUI & FFRestoreUI (KeepUI.fx) and will automatically work with all included presets.
  • GShade will no longer disable itself under single-player (offline) and non-whitelisted applications after the update check fails. Please note that we do not provide any official support for outdated versions or non-whitelisted games.
  • GShade now uses AVX CPU instructions if your CPU has support for them, which modestly improves performance. The installer will select the correct binaries automatically, but non-AVX legacy DLL's can be found in the zip release and can be used to replace the respective AVX binaries in GShade's Program Files folder if needed.
  • The bundled DXVK build has been updated to version 1.10.3.

Minor Changes:

  • Added a check for bad shader folder paths in config resulting from relocated application installations.
  • Optimal settings for The Sims 4 will now be set on installation.
  • Added support for basic The Sims 4 install location auto-detection.
  • Additional textures have been added for use with Copyright.fx.
  • Set more commonly encountered depth settings for VRChat by default. Different levels can still use alternate depth buffer settings, so if things seem off be sure to take a look using DisplayDepth.
  • Improved the UI of the options page shown when adding GShade to a game with the GShade Control Panel.

Bug Fixes:

  • Added a temporary workaround for all whitelisted OpenGL games to prevent double hooking under newer Intel GPU's and other graphics drivers which use a DirectX translation layer. A universal fix for all OpenGL applications will be coming with GShade 4.0.
  • Settings auto-detection for The Sims 4 in the installer and GShade Control Panel has been fixed.
