FBNeo PS5 1.9
FinalBurn Neo, the arcade emulator, as a native PS5 home-screen app. Its title ID is now PPSA99924.
New title ID: PPSA99924
Up to 1.8 the app used PPSA99012, which another app in the homebrew catalog also uses: with both installed, one of the two icons was missing. 1.9 installs in /data/homebrew/PPSA99924/.
- Nothing under the old ID is touched (it may be the other app's). If your old FBNeo PS5 is still there, the notification says so: delete the folder
/data/homebrew/PPSA99012/over FTP, then its icon (OPTIONS, Delete). Check first that the folder is ours. - Games, saves, states, covers and settings (
/data/fbneo/) are kept. - Replace the old ELF in your autoload with this one. The helper listens on a new port (9092).
Updates from the app
Settings, SYSTEM, Updates checks this repository's newest release and installs it (size and SHA-256 checked against GitHub's, every file against the zip's manifest; nothing changes if a check fails), then offers to restart. Once a day at start it looks by itself, and a notification says when a new version is out. The download is about 60 MB.
Big libraries load faster
"Looking for games..." now counts the zips it finds, then shows a progress bar while it checks the sets. Each zip is looked at once per start: the ROM check of a set uses the size and date the folder walk already read, instead of asking the drive again for every set, its parent and its BIOS (2500 zips: 6613 file lookups before, 2500 now), which is what is slow on a USB drive. Sets already checked aren't opened again while their zips are unchanged.
Also
- The helper's HTTPS can run the cover downloads and the update check at the same time safely.
Files
FBNeoPS5-v1.9.elf: send it to your payload loader (port 9021). It installs the app, then stays as the helper.FBNeoPS5-v1.9-PPSA99924.zip: the app folder, for Settings, Updates and the homebrew catalog. You don't need to download it yourself.
It is tested on Linux with the PS5 calls faked (270 host tests), but the new title ID and the updater haven't been tried on a PS5 yet: please report what works and what doesn't (logs in /data/fbneo/logs/).
Port by MisterTemaki; the PS5 app model follows PS5SX2.
