Release v1.9.5: Options Redesign & Custom Grade Colors, Bottom Strip Badges, Upgrade Indicators, and Performance Improvements

This release brings a complete overhaul to the settings menu with custom grade thresholds and color pickers, a brand-new Bottom Strip badge style with customizable upgrade icons, a toggle for DIM Armory recommendations, and a performance upgrade to make scrolling smoother!

If you like the extension and want to support me I would greatly appreciate it ! https://ko-fi.com/dilligafm8

reminder for all who don't want the spreadsheets: you can add your own custom wishlist if you want, just sync it in under CUSTOM WISHLIST then change the ACTIVE RANKING SOURCE to WISHLIST and have fun!

What's New in v1.9.5 (I chose 1.9.5 because this update is better than a 1.9.1 and smaller than what I'm working on for 2.0 soooooo yeah lol)

Additions

  • Options Menu Redesign & Custom Grade Colors / Rules: Completely overhauled the extension popup with a slick new tabbed design, animated pill highlights, and live preview mockups! You can now customize your own grade evaluation rules and tweak the exact colors for every single grade tier (S+, S, A, B, etc.) with custom color pickers and gradient styles. (Huge shoutout to @Daphinicus forthe contibution!!!).

  • Bottom Strip Badge Style & S-Tier Frame Polish: Added a brand-new badge layout style: Bottom Strip! If you don't like corner notches or floating pills covering your weapon icons, you can now dock a clean, full-width badge bar right along the bottom of your item tiles. We also tweaked the S-tier gold glow and frames so they render neatly outside the tiles without shifting surrounding items or breaking your vault grid alignment. (again shoutout to @Daphinicus)

  • Custom Upgrade Indicator Styles (Classic Circle, Triangle, Chevron): You can now choose your preferred upgrade indicator icon (Classic Circle, Triangle ▲, or Chevron ❯) to flag weapons in your vault that have higher potential perk combos waiting to be unlocked. (The triangle style looks especially clean paired with the new Bottom Strip!).

  • DIM Armory Recommendations Toggle: Added an on/off switch in the settings popup for the Armory view recommendations card. (This was requested in issue #38. I discovered that the armory voverlay I added was buggy in Beta DIM, so I added the toggle to turn it off untill i can fix it for real for real trust).

  • Expanded Translations (Roles, Sources & Korean Polish): Added localized translations across all supported languages for weapon combat roles, acquisition sources, and armor set bonuses. Also refined Korean (ko) recommendation cards and shopping sources thanks to more awesome translation work by @toumai266!

Improvements & Fixes

  • Vault Responsiveness & Scrolling Performance: Reworked queue batching, eliminated redundant innerHTML badge reads, deferred dimming checks during height animations with zero-allocation diffing, and batched badge opacity changes into a single animation frame. Scrolling through 600 items in a packed vault should now feel noticeably snappier with zero frame drops. (Big thanks again to @Daphinicus for PR #37 and PR #39!).

  • Evaluation Caching & Compound Grade Fix: Fixed a bug where display formatting (such as Two-Tier SA or potential upgrade arrows S➔S+) could mutate the underlying evaluation in memory.

  • Memory Leak & Route Cleanup: Fixed a memory leak where disconnected DOM item elements stayed cached across DIM route and filter changes by pruning unmounted tiles on each rescan.

  • Diagnostics & Logging Ring Buffer: Hoisted the diagnostic logger to initialize before the first page scan with an in-memory ring buffer, and purged lingering debug logs from the popup so your browser console stays clean.

  • Winnower Host & Resource Permissions: Whitelisted winnower.garden under web accessible resources and bundled the offline weapon manifest directly with extension builds to prevent any 404 asset errors.

  • Popup & Selector Resilience: Added defensive guards to button text updates in the settings menu so missing elements won't crash the popup, and replaced fragile obfuscated classes in the Armory view with stable semantic queries.
