Release v1.9.0: PvE + PvP Badge mode, DIM Armory Integration, Popup Summary Modes, and Chase List Improvements

This release brings a bunch of stuff: the Simultaneous Dual Mode so you can see both Aegis (PvE) and Finnald (PvP) grades at the same time, full DIM Armory weapon card integration with category rank banners and side-by-side recommended perks, customizable popup summary modes, a full Destiny 2 weapon catalog in the Chase List to search and chase any weapon in the game, and remotely updatable evaluation translations with full Korean support!

reminder for all who don't want the spreadsheets: you can add your own custom wishlist if you want, just sync it in under CUSTOM WISHLIST then change the ACTIVE RANKING SOURCE to WISHLIST and have fun!

What's New in v1.9.0

Additions

• Simultaneous Dual Mode (PvE + PvP): Added a requested feature to show both PVE and PVP badges on a weapon with their own independent ranking; this will help if anyone wants to check both ranks and doesn't want to keep switching between the two.
  The option has been added in the extension popup under Active Ranking Source, you can now select Both (Dual). Weapons will now display a fused badge right on your weapon tiles, showing both grades at once (e.g. S+ / A or SS / AA). Hovering or clicking on an item opens a side-by-side comparison with recommended perks, shopping readiness, and weapon notes for both modes at the same time, complete with dual potential upgrade arrows (▲)! (This was requested in Issue #22 ).

• DIM Armory Weapon Card Enhancements (still WIP): Brought the overlay directly into DIM’s Armory inspection sheet! When viewing any weapon in the Armory:

  • Side-by-Side Recommended Perks Matrix: Placed our full Recommended Perks & Strategic Analysis card directly alongside DIM's interactive perks grid so they sit side-by-side on wide screens.
  • Styled the card to match the exact look and feel of the popup sidepanel down to the pixel and kept it clean with no duplicate buttons or clutter.
    (as I said, this is still WIP, so some stuff might show up incorrectly, will be fix soon. soryyyy)

• Popup Summary Display Modes & Wishlist Reset Button: Added a new setting in the extension popup for the DIM weapon card header summary:

  • Full Details: The classic detailed summary card in the weapon popup.
  • Badge Only: Shows only the tier badge next to the weapon title without any extra boxes or clutter.
  • Hidden: Hides the summary card completely.
  • Also added a dedicated Clear / Reset button for custom wishlists in the settings so you can wipe custom data and restore the default wishlist. (These were requested in Issue #28).

• Full Destiny 2 Weapon Catalog in Chase List: The Chase List now integrates the full Bungie Manifest! This means you can now search, inspect, and chase any weapon in Destiny 2—even weapons that aren't on the spreadsheets. It automatically populates recommended perks with support for custom god roll overrides, live vault status indicators, and checklist integration.

• Database Explorer Performance Overhaul: Completely reworked the Database Explorer rendering engine. The first 40 items now load virtually instantly, with smooth infinite scrolling so browsing through all the weapons doesn't lag (I noticed that when you open the explorer there would always be a stutter and the page got slower, so I had to fix it)

• Remotely Updatable Evaluation Translations & Full Korean Suite: Added a system to fetch up-to-date weapon evaluation notes directly from the cloud mirror with offline fallback, so notes and translations can be updated without waiting for a full extension release. Also added full Korean (ko) translations for all weapon evaluation notes, strategic analysis text, and UI elements! (Huge thanks to @toumai266 for PR #26 and the Korean translation work!).
  (This is only the first step to full localization. If anyone that speaks one of the other languages can contribute to help translate the notes, I would really appreciate it!!)

Improvements & Fixes

• Sidepanel Usability & Interactivity: Fixed an issue where clicking, selecting text, or scrolling inside the sidepanel would accidentally close DIM's weapon popup. The sidepanel is now pinned flush to the top of the weapon card, automatically adjusts its height to fit your screen, and text highlighting/copying is now fully enabled.
• Mode-Aware Shopping Filters: Fixed the aegis:shopping DIM search filter so it properly filters by your active spreadsheet mode (PvE shopping targets vs PvP shopping targets), and corrected the author attribution in shopping banners (Aegis vs Finnald).
• Automated Sheet Sync Resilience: Made background spreadsheet syncing much more resilient to column shifts and layout changes so live syncs never fail silently.
• Security & Polish: Sanitized all injected HTML and cleaned up memory caching across the extension for better performance during long DIM sessions.

Installation

For Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera)

• Chrome Web Store: Install directly from Chrome Web Store (give it some time for google to verify if it's not yet up to date)
• Manual Install:

1. Download the packaged dim-aegis-overlay-v1.9.0.zip file.
2. Unpack the ZIP file.
3. Open Chrome/Opera and navigate to chrome://extensions/.
4. Enable Developer mode in the top-right corner.
5. Click Load unpacked and select the unpacked directory.
