Linux test for HD intro cadence and the Press Start title
Optional test for issues439 and441. The stable release remains v2.2. This package keeps your imported video files, codec, bitrate and resolution unchanged; it does not apply a720p conversion or change the original game clock.
The Linux64 HD movie reader now waits for FFmpeg pipe readiness instead of sleeping after each empty fragment. Paired native Linux tests with the same1080p30 input showed substantially more regular presentation. These are local software-renderer measurements, not a physical SteamDeck performance guarantee.
The package now includes the full shared asset catalog: the previous Linux bundle was missing 135 entries, including 126 title assets. It also preserves native title composition if HD word resources are rejected. The original GBA mode and working HD title controls were checked separately.
English HD title-word checks cover EU/US. The JP runtime uses its native title-word path; inclusion of all three regions does not certify a complete HD Japanese title.
Close the game before installing. Keep a backup/copy of the existing game folder, then extract this test there so the existing roms/, hd/, saves and settings remain available. The test archive contains program/runtime assets, not ROMs, saves, personal settings or imported videos; no media reimport or quality change is required. Continue using your existing Steam shortcut/Gaming Mode setup. Both32-bit and64-bit runtimes and all three game regions are included; the video pipe correction specifically concerns the64-bit host.
Please compare the same intro section (including Sora running) and check that the final T in PRESS START is complete. The issue remains available for feedback; if anything regresses, the unchanged stable v2.2 download remains available.
Exact component sources, hashes, validation and known limits accompany this test. No physical SteamDeck confirmation is claimed by publishing it.
Separate follow-up: the newly reported movie master-volume problem (#449) is still under investigation and is not corrected by this test.
