Startup test for the native Linux / Steam Deck report #330. This is a limited prerelease; stable Latest remains v2.2.
- Adds flushed startup boundaries around SDL initialization, window, renderer, VSync and entry into the game, plus the native64 exit code and boot-marker result.
- Adds optional
--safe-startupimmediately after the quotedReKHCoM.shpath. For that launch it selects native32, bundled libraries and SDL software rendering. It may be slower. Removing the flag restores the normal saved runtime choice; the safe wrapper does not migrate or rewrite that preference. - Normal launch keeps its existing driver selection and acceleration policy. No automatic restart after gameplay was added. Ordinary game settings/save operations remain normal.
- Includes current integrated movie master-volume support and the earlier Linux439/441 fixes. Imported video codec, resolution and files are unchanged; reimporting or lowering video quality is not required for this startup test. PR455's additional basic-import movie is not included, so #449 is not considered fully resolved by this package.
Close the game, extract the complete archive over the current game folder and keep the existing ROM, saves and settings. Use the native shortcut with forced Proton disabled. Try normal launch first; if it fails, keep its ReKHCoM.log and optionally compare --safe-startup. Include ReKHCoM.log.1 if a later attempt rotated the first log.
Local verification used the exact archive in a Linux VM: native64 default and forced startup, safe32 with a stale saved force64 preference, and a deliberately unavailable SDL driver. The successful runs reached the title screen; ROM/SRAM and runtime-preference hashes were preserved. Active game INI serialization was observed separately. These were headless functional checks, not physical Steam Deck/Gaming Mode, GPU or performance validation. The issue remains open for the reporter's result.
EU/US/JP runtimes are included. Unchanged objects were reused only after checking source/build equivalence; affected movie/shim units and the host were rebuilt. Source and component hashes are in BUILD-SOURCES.json. No ROM, save, private configuration or imported game media is included.
