Mera v1.8.1
[1.8.1] - 2026-10-21
A patch release: one bug fix, plus documentation and CI. No change to the API.
Fixed
viewdatafailed on mera files written byconvertdatabefore this release when
TimerOutputs 1.x was installed, which 1.8.0 allows.convertdatastored its timer objects in
the file, and the newer TimerOutputs cannot rebuild them.loaddatawas never affected, so the
data itself always loaded.viewdatanow warns once and shows everything else, and
convertdatastores the timings as plain numbers, so new files no longer depend on the
TimerOutputs version.
Documentation
- Collaboration on extensions. The README (near the top, in Roadmap and in Get involved), the
docs front page,CONTRIBUTING.mdand the GitHub issue page invite researchers who need a
feature or a reader for their own project to write to mera@manuelbehrendt.com. CONTRIBUTING.mdhas new sections on getting help (where to ask, response times, which
versions are supported), governance (who decides, how contributors are credited, how releases
are made) and which branch a change belongs on. The CI line now names Julia 1.10 to 1.13 on
Linux, macOS and Windows.- Testing guide: current numbers (37 of 71 test files use data, about 8000 tests locally and
2170 in CI), all three coverage flags, and links to the guide from the README badges, the
coverage note and the Testing section. - Stable docs links: the README,
llms.txtand the assistant page point to the released docs
under/stable/. - Gallery: recipe 006, where the grid is refined, with a card showing the 3-D view of the grid.
- Feature request template asks whether the request is for a research project.
CI
- Documentation deploys run one at a time. Pushing
masterandmulticodetogether made two
builds race forgh-pages, and the second was rejected. Deploys now share one concurrency
group; pull-request builds keep their own.
