The guest's vibration on the phone, the first sound out of the guest, and logs that say what happened.

What's new
Vibration. When the guest vibrates, the phone does too: the emulator reads the signal the guest drives its actuator with, and the app plays it through Core Haptics, following its strength and frequency. Settings → Machine → Guest vibration; on by default, but it needs Guest sound switched on too, since the actuator is part of the guest's sound hardware.
Sound, barely. The guest now gets an output route, and sound does come out — but it is choppy, falls behind, and may not survive every restart of the guest's audio. Still experimental, and off by default: Settings → Machine → Guest sound.
A warning before a 512 MB translation buffer. Two users' phones stopped at the very first instruction with the buffer at 512 MB, and both got going at 256 MB. The bigger sizes are still on offer, with a warning and an easy way back.
Logs that can be read after the fact. emulator.log stamps every line with the seconds since launch, counts repeated lines instead of repeating them, and starts with the device, its iOS build and its memory. When the guest panics, the log names the panic itself. guest-console.log no longer grows into hundreds of megabytes of zeros.
Settings → General on the phone too: the guest's time zone, the language and the build, in one place.
Fixed
- Cydia's helper is put back after Cydia itself is reinstalled or upgraded; it used to fail again with
cydo returned an error code (2)until repaired by hand. - The system's own menus and dates follow the system's language instead of always being Russian.
- A display handshake the guest's iOS 14 kernel does its own way is recognized.
Not in this release
Restore from the phone is in the app, but switched off: Settings → Restore is greyed out. It gets as far as sending the system image, but the emulated USB controller still loses packets and the guest panics now and then partway through, so it does not finish reliably yet. Build the guest image on a computer, as before.
Before you install
- You need a jailbroken guest image, built by ChefKiss's guide with the jailbreak bootstrap. None is included.
- The app needs JIT: always launch it through StikDebug. Before launching, long-press Inferno in StikDebug, choose Assign Script and pick
legacy.js. - About 9 GB free for the guest image.
Step by step: Installing. What does and does not work: README.
The Mac app is not part of this release; Inferno-macOS.dmg from v0.3 still stands.
