v1.7.1 - Roll Out
More ways to fight, and now with armor. This release adds a new hide-and-seek mode, a full
vehicle system, brings two modes onto the single-player campaign maps, and squares away a
couple of multiplayer rules.
New: Prop Hunt
- One team hides, disguised as ordinary map objects; the other team hunts them down after a
short head start. Props press USE to change shape, and can move but can't shoot back. Last
props standing (or the clock) decide the round.
New: Vehicles and emplacements
- Drive tanks and jeeps - one player drives, a second mans the gun.
- Man fixed Flak 88s and Nebelwerfers.
- Anti-tank pickups: Allies get the bazooka, Axis the panzerschreck (never each other's).
Tanks shrug off small arms - only a rocket kills one, so those pickups matter. - Destroyed vehicles blow up and respawn; hold USE beside an unoccupied enemy vehicle to
capture it. A crew HUD shows the vehicle, its health, and your crew. - Available on five converted single-player campaign maps.
New: Campaign maps for Base Assault and Push
- Base Assault and Push now play on real single-player campaign maps, not just the deathmatch
arenas - reached from a "Campaign Maps" button on the team setup screen.
New: Spawn protection
- A few seconds of invulnerability right after you respawn, dropped the instant you open fire,
so you can't be farmed on the spawn.
Modes tuned
- Demolition is now truly two-way: either team plants a charge on the enemy's bomb site.
- Freeze Tag gains a meltgun - aim and fire at a frozen teammate to weld them free faster than
standing next to them.
Fixes
- Medkits no longer let you channel a heal at full health, and can no longer refill a
Down-But-Not-Out absorption pool (an accidental near-invincibility). They top you to your
real max health, nothing more.
Coop players: nothing here changes your game. Every multiplayer system is gated off on coop
maps and the build enforces that isolation automatically.
