v1.5.2 - DEAD MEN (Omaha Beach)
Fixed
- Your Higgins boat now heels over and goes down behind you after the ramp drop. It never had: a solid collision box on its own hull was blocking the roll every run.
- Beach fire lands again. The "are you behind cover" test had been reading every player as covered since the last release; open sand is dangerous, hedgehogs and wrecks still protect you.
- The captain's "we're dead men if we stay here" exchange plays once you surface, every run.
- Bodies on the seabed are all placed before you go under; nothing appears in front of you mid-swim.
- Quick draw: the parked rifle now sits to your left with the sights up and eases into place instead of snapping.
- Two underwater sounds that had never been wired now play.
New
- Rangers huddle at the hedgehogs around the radioman, crouched, shaking or wounded, and charge when the whistle blows for the smoke. Some are cut down; the rest go prone short of the shingle.
- Wet sand darkens under the wash and dries behind it, with foam where the sea turns, ragged along the beach.
- Weapon sway on turns is visible now (it was capped too low to see).
Notes
- The flanking MG42 crews, the radioman's call, the whistles and the beach advance from 1.5.1 were all confirmed working in play this weekend.
- Bugs 2473-2499 in the project buglog carry the detail.
