v1.10.51 - Norway rebuilt
Norway station finale
- Fuel tanks, charges and the explosives pickup rebuilt by hand. Four fuel tanks, six tank charges, eleven charges on the comms equipment and the explosives pickup are now exactly where they were placed in build mode.
- The storage room is now the armory, with a new objective: plant charges in the armory [0/4], straight after you take the explosives there.
- No invisible walls round the fuel tanks. Each tank used to block as one big box well outside its round cylinders. You now walk right up to the tank itself, on every side.
Everywhere
- No more soldiers spawning inside props. Reinforcement waves checked the map for room to spawn but not placed objects, so men could appear inside tanks, crates or sandbags and get stuck. Every spawn spot now checks for those too.
- Freed POWs leave. A rescued prisoner used to stand at the drop-off point for the rest of the mission (m1l1's Ranger). He now runs off to somewhere out of sight and disappears.
- No suppression through walls. The under-fire screen effect could fire from bullets passing on the other side of a wall or doorway, for example a burst aimed at a teammate in the next room. It now needs an open line to the bullet and a pass within about 10 feet. Near-miss whiz and crack sounds are unchanged.
MG42 and .30 cal you carry
- Braced on the bipod, they barely kick. Bracing (hold Use at a ledge) now absorbs almost all of the climb and most of the visible punch.
- They overheat like the mounted MG42s: about 2 seconds of sustained fire cooks the barrel, it hisses and is dead for 2 seconds, and short bursts keep it cool.
