NEW - XP SYSTEM (Phase 1): earn XP for kills (headshot/melee/long-range bonuses), officer kills, denying the officer's heal retreat, objectives, revives, calling in strikes/paradrops, surviving paratroopers, kill assists and savior kills. Animated gold XP bar pops top-center as you earn; end-of-map squad debrief with rank progress; 13 WW2 US Army ranks with metallic emblems. Progress saves per player and survives restarts.
NEW - TAKE COVER (EXPERIMENTAL - unstable, actively being reworked): bind "Coop: Take Cover" in Controls. Face a wall and press to snap into wall cover (auto-turns you); crouch behind sandbags for low cover. Hold FIRE to blind-fire around the detected corner, hold ADS to peek out and aim, mouse free-looks without leaving cover. Known issues: right-corner blind-fire animation is wrong-handed, peek does not yet step out of cover, and crashes are possible - use at your own risk this build.
NEW - THIRD PERSON ON MOUNTED GUNS (EXPERIMENTAL): the jeep .30cal and MG42 nests now support third person - chase camera tracks the gun and the world gun stays visible. Known issue: the manning animation does not play yet (character stands idle).
IMPROVED - Modern third-person movement: with free cam on, hold W to run where the camera looks (camera-relative steering with smooth turn-to-face). cl_freecamAutoFace 0 restores classic controls.
IMPROVED - Shoulder aim: click MIDDLE MOUSE while shoulder-aiming to swap shoulders.
IMPROVED - In-cover and first-person players auto-switch to third person while covered, back on exit.
NEW - BUILD MODE (dev tool): coop_dev 1 + exec coop_mod/cfg/buildmode.cfg - place/rotate/save props in a running map (300-model catalog, numpad controls); placements dump ready-to-bake script blocks.
