Command-line users with a Frozen Warframe SE: your panel should respond
now. Commands like trcc display color or set-brightness reported success
and did nothing. That firmware restarts if it receives the normal startup
packet, and TRCC knows to skip it — but only worked that out after scanning
for devices, which the desktop app does and the command line doesn't. So the
command line was sending the one packet that reboots the panel, then talking
to a device that was no longer listening. (#267, #150)
A related crash is gone too: if hidapi was missing, or was the wrong one of
the two Python packages that share that name, connecting could take the whole
app down instead of telling you what to install.
Saved themes stop resetting on Bazzite, Silverblue and other atomic
systems. On those distributions /home is a shortcut to /var/home, so the
same folder has two names — and TRCC compared the text of the two paths rather
than checking whether they were the same place. Your own saved theme was
mistaken for a built-in one, so on restart it loaded the built-in theme of the
same name instead of yours. If you had a theme called Theme1, that's why it
kept coming back changed. (#261)
Your cooler tells you its own name. Every panel sharing the 87AD:70DB
USB id introduced itself as "GrandVision 360 AIO", whatever it actually was —
that name was stored once for the whole USB id, which covers dozens of
different coolers. The handshake already knows which one you have, so it now
says so. Confirmed so far for the Hyper Vision 360 and Peerless Vision 360,
both added to the supported-devices list. (#272, #274)
Reports say when a screen is mounted sideways. Thermalright fits some
854x480, 960x540 and 800x480 panels rotated inside the cooler. That has always
been readable from the handshake, and TRCC never mentioned it — so two people
with the identical panel spent a month on separate reports about rotation
without anyone realising they had the same hardware. Diagnostic reports now
say portrait-mounted when they are. Nothing about the display changes; if
you already rotate to 90 degrees to get an upright picture, keep doing that.
