Patch Notes: Every Town an Economy
Living towns
- Every city, town and village now has its own economy online, rated from Destitute to Booming. Hover a town on the Held Map or the Overworld to see its economy, whether its market is rising or falling, how its prices compare with the region's usual ones, and who holds the area.
- A Booming town's shops ask up to a quarter less. A Destitute town's ask up to a quarter more, and pay less for what you sell.
Players move the towns
- What you do in a town raises it: walking its streets, buying at its players' traders, and driving a raid from its gates. Gold spent never moves a town, and each player's part is capped per town per day.
- Townsfolk talk about how trade is going in their town. A Booming town holds a second market day each week, and a Destitute one holds a market only every other week.
- A town's card names the guilds that hold patronage of the area's guild chapters.
The sea trade joins in
- A port town's sea lanes lift its economy: the busier the harbour, the better its town does.
- A port's exchange now prices by its town's economy. A Booming port sells goods cheaper, and a Destitute one dearer. The Exchange tab shows the port's economy.
- Every deal at a port's exchange raises that town's share of the players' activity, like trading at a player's stall.
Fairer trade
- On a seat's Market Day, and for a holder's members, shops now pay less for what you sell as well as asking less. Essentials can no longer be bought and sold back for a profit there. A friend's caravan on the road now gives its friend's price both ways.
- A shop never pays more for an item than you paid a shop for it, so carrying shop goods from a cheap region to a dear one no longer makes gold. Loot you find sells as before. Improving a bought item (setting a gem, honing, reforging) is now paid for when you sell it.
- Materials bought at a shop stay in your pack instead of going into the Stores. Crafting stations still use them straight from your pack.
- A gem bought at a shop keeps its shop price when you set it in a socket and when you take it out again.
Town cards
- A town's card now shows two chapter patrons by name and a count of the rest, with the guild holding the most chapters first. It shows them only when the card has room, so it fits on a phone screen.
