Patch Notes: The Growth tab
New
- A new Growth tab in the pause menu, next to Stats. Everything about how your character grows is in one place:
-
Level: your attributes, and when you have a level up waiting, where you place your points and press Ascend. On a smaller window it opens full screen. If you leave before pressing Ascend, your points stay unspent and the bonus never re-rolls.
-
Specialisations: a guide to all thirty paths, fifteen arcane and fifteen martial, including the ones you can't choose yet. Each path shows:
- whether it's available, needs mastering, isn't reached yet, has no mastery slots left, or isn't possible for your class;
- its requirements, skill by skill (for example "Alteration: 76 of 100, then master it");
- its passive bonus;
- its signature spell or technique, with the spell's effects or the technique's cooldown and fatigue for each weapon;
- how you use it.
You choose your path right there.
-
Firmament: the online passive tree, now drawn inside the menu.
-
Captain's Stars: your ship captain's tree, now drawn inside the menu too.
-
- The Firmament and the Captain's Stars can go full screen with one press. On a phone, each opens over the whole screen.
- The page list marks what's waiting: a level up, a specialisation to choose, captain's stars to set. The Stats page's Growth button shows the total.
Changes
- The Stats page's Ascend and Firmament buttons, the specialisation cards on the Master Skills page and the Captain page's Open the stars now all lead to the Growth tab.
- Classic interface: the S (arcane paths) and W (martial paths) rows on the character sheet now show whenever your class can earn a path, and open the same guide.
- Clearer descriptions: every specialisation's passive and signature, the level-up screen and the Firmament are reworded in plain terms - for example "deal 20% more damage" instead of "strike 20% harder", "Spend your points" instead of "Choose what rises", "Not enough points." instead of "You lack the points for that." The level-up screen and the Firmament are now translated into every language.
- The level-up key and the level-up notice still open the level-up directly. A revenant's stars still open from the Companions page.
Fixes
- With unsaved star changes, switching page or tab, pressing the character sheet key, the pack key, the QuickDial key, tapping outside the menu or opening a timer's board now asks first, the same way Escape does - and asks again if you change more stars after the first warning. This includes a revenant's stars.
- Classic interface: with a level up being spent on the character sheet, the S and W rows no longer open the Growth tab, which could lose the level's bonus points.
- The guide no longer shows a path as reachable when your mastery slots can't hold both of its skills (for example two minor schools of magic).
- The level-up fanfare plays once per level, not every time you open the Level page.
- Enter on a menu tab no longer presses Ascend; typing in the account window no longer moves the sky behind it.
- The Brawler's, Bloodmage's and Berserker's descriptions now say exactly what they do.
Patch Notes: Disintegrate and your revenants
Fixes
- Your own Disintegrate no longer deletes your revenant. It still breaks through a revenant's last stand and its will, but now it brings the revenant to its knees like any other killing blow. You choose to Kill it (its trophy weapon drops) or Spare it (it joins you as a companion). A revenant already killed this way stays dead.
What's Changed
- GROWTH: one pause-menu tab for the level, a specialisations guide, the Firmament and the captain's stars; plain-language descriptions; the comprehensive audit; RVN-OWN-KNEEL by @Lattymoy in #997
