Patch Notes: Chat safety
Block a player
/block <name>hides everything a player says to you: chat, invites, notes, letters, and trade, duel, wedding, card or journal requests./unblock <name>undoes it, and/blockedlists who you've blocked.- The block is tied to their account, so a new name or a new character doesn't get around it. It follows you to every device you sign in on.
Report a line
- Click a player's name on any chat line to Report or Block them. A report sends the moderators that line and the lines before it.
/report <name> [reason]: <note>sends everything that player said in your chat, with an optional note for the moderators. Reasons: harassment, hate, sexual, threat, spam, other.- The game server signs every line it relays. A report can only carry words that player really said, so it can't be faked.
The Code of Conduct
/rulesshows the Code of Conduct. Everyone agrees to it once, before their first chat line.- It names harassment, hate, sexual remarks, sharing personal details, spam and scams. Hate covers race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation (asexuality included), disability and age, and that includes "jokes".
- Trash talk about the game is still fine. Attacking people is not.
Consequences
- Breaking the rules leads to a mute, then longer mutes (30 minutes, a day, a week), then a ban.
- Moderators now see every past mute and ban a player has had.
- If three established players report someone within an hour, that player is muted for 30 minutes until a moderator looks.
- Guest accounts and accounts under 14 days old can post one public channel line every 4 seconds. Party, guild and local chat aren't slowed, and a line sent too soon goes back in your chat box.
- A banned account is told its ban when it signs in, and can't sign in or recover until the ban ends.
For moderators
/caseslists open reports,/case <name>shows one (the lines, reasons, notes and the AI reviewer's view), and/dismiss <name>closes it./modhelplists them./ban <name> [days|perm]: <reason>now tells the banned player why. A moderator's mute or ban closes that player's open case.
