Patch Notes: Handheld screens
The front door on landscape handhelds
On a handheld held sideways, like the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X, the front door's logo no longer fills the screen. The menu now keeps its two columns: the sections down the side and the open page using the full height. Settings, Load, Online and the rest can be read and used again. A narrowed browser window on a desktop gets the same layout.
Patch Notes: Your Language
Pick a language
Settings > Interface > Language now offers 13 languages besides English: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian and Spanish. The choice applies at once and is remembered. If your browser reads one of them first, the game offers it to you once, in that language.
These translations cover the game's own menus and screens: the front door and Settings, the pause window, the death screens, the account and online messages, the Professions and Stores pages and every crafting station, the Features screen and every mod's settings. They are machine translated, and the game says so. A fix from a speaker is welcome. More languages are on the way.
Daggerfall Unity translation packs
Under the Language row, Translation pack installs a Daggerfall Unity translation (a folder or its .zip) from your own files. Nothing is uploaded. A pack translates Daggerfall's own text too: dialogue, quests, books, and the names of places, enemies, items and spells. It also works for a language not in the list yet. The French pack's grammar works.
Every script on the classic screens
The classic windows now draw any script: Cyrillic, Greek, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Before, anything past plain English letters came out as question marks.
Credits
The About pane credits each language's translation.
