Patch Notes: Stables, Wagon Yards and the Driver's Bench
Stables and Wagon Yards
- Every city and town now has a Stable and a Wagon Yard. They are open-air yards on the town's open ground, clear of homes, guild halls and roads.
- The Stable sells horses and buys them back.
- The Wagon Yard sells the Small Cart, the Open Wagon and the Caravan, and buys any of them back.
- Each yard has its own keeper, named for the town, and a signboard. Horses and wagons stand on show, and pressing one opens the yard's stock.
- General Stores no longer sell or buy horses, carts or wagons.
- The Open Wagon now costs 9000 gold and the Caravan 25000. Wagons bought before the change stay valid everywhere.
- Every yard charges the same price in every region, and its keepers can't be stolen from.
- Yards keep clear of the boulders, stalls, walls and crop fields the town mods add, and of the spots where travellers arrive.
- You can see a town's yards through the windows of nearby houses.
Driving a wagon
- On the Open Wagon and the Caravan you now sit on the driver's bench with the reins in hand.
- Both now need a team of two horses. Buy the second one at a Stable. The Small Cart still takes one horse.
- The horses are harnessed with traces and reins that sag and swing as the wagon moves.
- You can zoom out to third person while driving from the bench, on the Open Wagon as well as the Caravan, and you stay in third person after fast travel or a teleport.
- Your parked wagon now blocks you instead of letting you walk through it.
- If you're left with one horse for a two-horse wagon, you can ride that horse again.
- Wagons are no longer oversized in the Overworld.
- Summoning a wagon no longer traps you under it.
- Other players driving a bench wagon are drawn sitting on their bench.
Patch Notes: Bounty board order, the map on you, Redguard towns and Damned blades
Bounty board
- Clicking Take bounty again and again now takes the board's notices in order, top to bottom. Before, the notice you had just taken stayed open with Give up under your cursor, so quick clicks took the top bounty and gave it straight back.
- After your last take, the notice shows a short line instead of buttons; pick it on the left to share it or give it up. In a party, a stray click there no longer shares the bounty with everyone.
- Give up now asks for a second click ("Click again to give up") and sits on the left of the notice.
- The board keeps one size, so the Take button stays where it is while the list grows.
World map
- The Enhanced world map now opens on you, as if you had pressed Find me: it glides to where you stand and the red cross blinks over you. Opening it from the journal still shows the quest's place, and a journey under way, a teleport and a carriage or ship driver's map open as before. The classic map opens as it always has.
Townsfolk
- Towns in Hammerfell's regions are now walked by Redguards. Before, Sentinel, the Dragontail Mountains and other towns outside the desert had Breton and Nord townsfolk with Redguard names. Residents there keep their names but get Redguard looks, and so do the townsfolk inside houses (with Roleplay & Realism's Variant Residents on, as it is by default).
Loot
- Damned weapons: one cursed Legendary weapon in four is now Damned. Its curse line rolls at the very top of its range, but it costs you 8 health on every hit, and no temple can lift the curse. Unequip it and the bleeding stops: take it out for a boss, then put it away.
- In arena bouts, an enchantment's own bite (a Damned blade's, or any Health Leech weapon's) no longer kills you; it leaves you at 1 health like every other blow there.
