Patch Notes: Field fixes - the board crash, potion names, fishing, screenshots, guild halls and skinning indoors
Notice Board crash fixed
Changing a list on the Notice Board's Market tab while it was still loading could crash the game with a "NotFoundError" screen. The board now waits for one redraw to finish before starting the next.
Use Magic Item names its potions
The Use Magic Item list (U) now names everything in it properly. Potions show what they are ("Potion of Healing", "Potion of Restore Power", "Potent Potion of Healing") instead of a row of identical "Glass Bottle" entries. Enchanted items show their real name once identified ("Mark of Lightning") instead of a garbled "%it of ..." label; before identification they show the plain item type, as in Daggerfall. Identical potions still share one row.
Fishing prompt only at the water
The "Open Water / Cast the net" prompt no longer pops up when you stand high above the sea, like on the cliffs and high ground around Daggerfall. It only appears when the water you look at is within reach of your net. On a carrack or galleon it no longer sits on your screen wherever you look: look down over the side to fish, and anywhere else the prompt goes away. Fishing from the shore, while swimming, or from a small boat's low deck works as before.
Screenshots no longer come out black
A screenshot could be saved to your gallery as a completely black picture, mostly in quiet places like town streets, when a Frame Rate Cap was set or the shot was taken with a gamepad button. The game now always takes the picture right after it finishes drawing a frame. Shots already saved black can be deleted from the Screenshots page.
Guild halls stay empty after resting
The previous residents of a house your guild bought as its hall no longer walk back in when you rest there by day. The same holds for player homes.
Skin bodies indoors
You can now skin creatures you kill inside buildings, such as the giant rats and bats from the Fighters Guild's "Hunt for Giant Rodents". With a Skinning Knife in your pack, look at the body and press use, exactly as on the road or in a dungeon. Searching the body still works. Leaving the building or opening a window stops the skinning.
Known: Protect an Honored Mage
Walking back into the Mages Guild while the mage's three-hour trance is running sends another group of three Nightblades, even if you killed the first. Daggerfall Unity does the same, and this release does not change it. Stay in the hall until the three hours are up to meet only one attack; the extra assassins do not hurt your progress.
