Patch Notes: Notice Board overhaul, word filter, profile and wallet
One Notice Board per town
- Towns with three or more bulletin boards no longer show two or three Notice Boards. Each town has one: the board nearest the town's middle. The other boards are Daggerfall's rumour boards again, as they are offline. Bounty Boards are unchanged.
- The Notice Board now says "Notice Board" when you point at it.
Easier to read
- Notes stand straight, the text is larger, and anything written on the cork sits on a dark panel.
- On a phone the tab row scrolls sideways, so Guilds and Seat can be reached.
- Tabs show counts: new notes on Notices, and open writs on Work once you've looked at it.
- Notices shows town and server news first, then players' notes.
- Work shows "Court writs today" at the top instead of under the last card.
Market
- Views are grouped: Buy (Materials, Crafted, Auctions, Goods), Sell (Orders, My listings), then History.
- Your silver is shown at the top, and listings have column names.
- The Weavers' and Apothecaries' counters are folded under one "Suppliers" line.
- My listings is split into the List form, your listings, auctions, bids and buy orders. Form fields are labelled (a stall's "Put up a piece" form too), and the List button is full size again.
- The Vendors list has the same column names.
Faster
- The Notice Board's window now downloads in the background after the game starts, so it is usually ready the first time you open it.
- The Market starts loading as soon as the board opens.
- The Seat tab loads its standings and works at the same time.
Guild war (Seat tab)
- Split into panels: the Charter, This week (Muster, Reckoning, Turning), the battle, Standings, Your guild, the holder's orders, the Works and the Chronicle.
- Each challenging guild has a bar showing how close it is to claiming the Charter or winning the Right of Siege.
- New "How the seat war works" guide: pledging, earning influence, claiming, sieges and holding.
Shorter text
- Messages across the board, Market, Work, Vendors and Seat tabs are shorter and plainer. For example, "The counting-house is not answering. The market cannot be read now." is now "The market did not load."
Bad words filtered
- Slurs and crude words are starred out (
****) in chat on every channel, Notice Board notes, guild notes, letters and shared journal pages. The rest of the message stays as written, and ordinary words that only contain a filtered one ("spiced wine", "snigger", "don't get cocky") are left alone. - Notes pinned before this update are starred too when a board is read.
- A guild rank name or a ship's name with such a word is refused, and the message names the word.
- A custom class name with such a word isn't shown to other players, and a maker's mark with one is left off the item.
- A name given with the Item Maker is starred wherever the item is shown.
Player profile
- The inspect card is tidied up: the name always keeps its line, badges sit on their own row under it, and the duel, breach, town and serpent records are compact plaques.
- Worn gear is grouped into In hand, Armour, Clothing and Jewellery. A pair, such as two rings, shares one row.
Wallet
- The wallet's sheet is now a ledger: Coin (gold, silver) and In the wallet (letters of credit, Deadlands Embers, Welkynd Shards), with each amount lined up on the right.
What's Changed
- BOARD-UI, TEXT-F1, PROFILE-UI, WALLET-UI, AUDIT 657: the Notice Board overhauled, a player's words filtered, the inspect card and the wallet organized, and all of it audited by @Lattymoy in #657
