Patch Notes: Controller hotbar, Arena fixes, Overworld filters and the road
Controller
- Overworld and Quick dial can be bound in the Controller bindings window, and put on any d-pad tap or hold.
- Arranging the hotbar on a controller: in any window, press LT to raise the hotbar. Press A on a slot to pick it up, then A on another slot to move or swap it. Y clears a slot. Press LT again when you are done.
- Add to hotbar asks which slot. With a controller in hand, the item card's and the spellbook's "Add to hotbar" picks the entry up and raises the bar. Press A on a slot, or hold LB/RB and press that slot's own button (X too). All 16 crossbar slots can be reached.
- Picking up the mouse while something is in hand drops it and lowers the bar.
Arena
- Arrows and pellets you shoot in a bout are handed back by the healers. Conjured arrows are not, and arrows you drop or sell during a bout are not either.
- The Curse of Daggerfall's ghosts no longer come for you at the arena's gate, in its stands, on the floor or in the undercroft. They wait outside the grounds, and resting there is not interrupted.
- In two-against-one bouts, an enemy's area spell no longer hits its own partner. A Grand Melee's HUD now says "each alone", because every fighter there is on their own side.
- The undercroft has enemies again in its deep cellars, past the fighters' hall. The hall itself stays peaceful, and resting there is still never interrupted.
Overworld and travel map
- Node distance filter: a "Nodes" button picks how far away gathering groups still show: any distance, 0.5, 1 or 2 km.
- Carriage towns: towns with a carriage driver at the gate show a wheel on both maps, and the Overworld edges their plate in brass.
- Name colours: friends' names are blue and guild-mates' names are violet. Your party stays green.
- Player filters on both maps: Friends, Guild, Others, and a minimum Renown. On the travel map they sit in the key.
- Town seats: hovering a town that can be captured shows who holds it and this week's battle (mouse only; on touch, the travel map's info box says it). The map's info box also names the holder now; before, it always said "unheld".
- On horseback in the Overworld, your sprite faces the way you are riding again.
Wilderness encounters
- Encounters on the road (World settings, on by default): while you travel, an enemy far below your level (a rat for a level 3+, an imp for a level 6+, an orc for a level 15+) no longer stops you. Other encounters sometimes come as a small patrol. Resting is not travelling.
