Patch Notes: A cursor for the Basket
Herbalism
- The mouse cursor now appears for the Basket's search. The glints show around the crosshair, not on it. Before, moving the mouse toward one turned your view, and the glint moved with it, so you couldn't click it. Now the cursor is free while you search, and your view stays still. Click a glint while it shows to find it. The hint under the crosshair now says "click the glint".
- When the search ends, however it ends, the mouse goes back to looking around. If you end it with Escape, the look comes back when you let go of the key, and holding Escape no longer opens the pause menu as well.
- Clicking anywhere while a glint shows still counts, so your attack key, a controller's trigger and a tap on a phone work as before. With a controller in hand, the mouse pointer stays hidden.
- With Gentle acts on, the search has nothing to press, so the cursor isn't freed and the hint says "searching...".
- No second harvest after the search. Letting go of the click that found the last glint could start picking the same patch's herbs straight away, and wear your Sickle. It doesn't any more.
The other gathering minigames
- Mining, Skinning and Fishing take the look back. You aim these with the crosshair: the rock's strike points, the cutting line on the body, and where your net lands (a school of fish under it means a bigger catch). If you had freed the mouse (the Free Mouse key, Y by default; offline, Enter too) before you started, the look now comes back so you can aim, and stays back afterwards.
- Logging and picking herbs by hand or with the Sickle don't use the mouse cursor, so they're unchanged. The anvil, loom, workbench and mason's bench already open with the cursor free.
