Patch Notes: Wear Matters Again
The last update made gear last a lot longer. It went a bit too far: a long dungeon barely scratched your weapon. This brings back some pressure to head home, without making gear fragile again.
Gear wears twice as fast as in the last update
- Every blow wears your weapon and armour twice as much as before. A steel longsword now loses about an eighth of its condition over a hundred swings (it was about a sixteenth). Armour wears faster too, though good armour still lasts.
- Still far gentler than before the last update. Armour wears a fraction of what it did then, and a monster's claws still don't wear it at all.
- Repairs cost the same. Smiths and guilds still charge a third of Daggerfall's price. Keeping a Daedric longsword in shape costs about 3 to 6 gold per hit you land.
Unchanged
- Repair kits, Healing potions, companions' packs, and online selling all work as they did in the last update.
- If you turned the combat overhaul's own wear back on (offline), it wears at that mod's rate, as before.
