Patch Notes: Repairs, Prices, Party Maps, Dress and the Journal
Repairs
- Repairs cost a third less. Every smith and guild now charges two thirds of the old repair price, online and offline.
- Instant repair is on by default. Smiths hand your gear back straight away instead of keeping it for days. You can still turn it off in the settings.
- New: Field Repair Kits. Find them in dungeon treasure piles and on enemies that carry loot. A Field Repair Kit mends any weapon or armour, whatever its metal, by 15% of its condition (the most worn piece first), then it's used up. Smith-made Repair Kits still mend 25% of their own metal.
Cheaper essentials online
Online, these now cost half:
- Tavern rooms, food and drink
- Temple disease cures
- Travel fares (inn nights and ship passage)
- Potions, at every shop and guild
Other items, repairs, training and spells keep their prices. Offline prices are unchanged.
Spell absorption toned down
- Items with Spell Absorption now absorb Destruction spells 50% of the time instead of always.
- Spell Absorption spells max out at a 50% chance. Custom Spell Absorption spells can't go above 50.
- Absorbing a spell now restores half its cost in magicka instead of all of it.
- Sorcerers (and other classes that always absorb) still absorb every Destruction spell they have room for, with the half refund.
New spell: Shared Cartography
- A Mysticism spell. While it lasts, the parts of a dungeon you map appear on the automaps of party members in the same dungeon. A scout can map ahead for everyone.
- How to get it: buy it ready-made at the spell shop while playing online (listed next to Resurrection), or make your own in the Spell Maker (cast on self, duration only).
- The ready-made spell lasts about 2 minutes at level 1 and a bit over 3 at level 10. Recasting adds to the time left, so keeping it up is part of the delve.
- Areas you receive from party members appear greyed out: known, but not visited by you.
- Offline or without a party, the spell does nothing.
Dress for the part
What you wear now changes how people react to you:
- Common clothes (casual pants, peasant blouses, plain robes and the like) win over commoners but draw disdain from nobles.
- Formal wear (gowns, formal cloaks and tunics, surcoats) impresses nobles and pleases merchants, though commoners find it a little stuck-up.
- Priest and Priestess Robes earn a warmer welcome at the temples and a small nod from scholars.
- Each garment counts a little, capped at ±10 per group, and only while you wear it.
- The Enhanced Plus Standing page has a new Dress line showing what your outfit is doing.
A tidier journal (Enhanced Plus)
- Finished quests have a Remove button, and Clear archive removes them all at once (each asks you to click twice).
- Active quests can be hidden from the journal without abandoning them. They keep running, and their timers and HUD markers stay.
- Show hidden brings hidden quests back into view, each with an Unhide button. Your hidden list is kept in your save.
