Patch Notes: The Storefront, Aurum and the Folios of Dwemer's Breach
The shop
The shop has a new design. A carousel at the top shows the featured items. Some items are for sale for a short time only. Each item has a live preview.
The shop now uses the Enhanced Plus style. Its colors change with your theme, and the Grimoire also changes it. The tabs stay at the top when you move down the list.
New bundles give many items for one price. If you have an item from a bundle, the bundle costs less.
All items cost Aurum
You buy all items in the shop with Aurum. Money buys Aurum packs only. You cannot buy an item with money.
Each Aurum price is 100 Aurum for each dollar of the old price. A large Aurum pack gives more Aurum for each dollar, so items cost less when you buy a large pack. No item, bundle or Aurum pack costs more than $30.
If you bought an item with money before this change, you keep it.
Aurum
Aurum is a new currency for your account. All of your characters use the same Aurum. Aurum has no cash value, and you cannot trade it.
You get Aurum when you play. Kill foes, complete quests, collect bounties and win events to find Aurum. You can find 100 Aurum each day. The challenges of the season also give Aurum.
Aurum caches are in the world. Each dungeon has one Aurum Coffer near its treasure. Open a coffer to get 10 Aurum. You can open each coffer one time, and the coffers do not change each day. Each new dungeon that you explore gives Aurum. If you open 10 coffers in one day, the next coffer opens after midnight UTC.
The server checks that you are in the dungeon when you open its coffer.
If you support the game on Patreon, link Patreon on your account card. Each cent that you paid on Patreon gives you 1 Aurum. If you linked Patreon before this update, link it again to get your Aurum now.
A gift for you
Thank you for your support. Each player who has an account at this update gets 500 Aurum and the Crystal Spurs. The Crystal Spurs are a new Aura Armory item for your arms. Small crystals grow along each arm, and their color changes slowly. A letter in your mailbox tells you about the gift. You do not have to claim it.
Each week, you also get Aurum one time for each of these five tasks:
- Close a Dagon's Breach.
- Take an Elite Breach Redoubt.
- Kill a sea serpent.
- Hold a fallen star.
- Defend a town.
A new week starts on Monday, UTC.
You can also buy Aurum in the shop. A large pack gives more Aurum for each dollar than a small pack.
Hide the shop
A new setting can hide the shop. Open Settings, then Interface, and set Hide the shop to on. The shop button goes off the pause screen. You keep your Aurum and your items. This setting is off at the start.
Daily Deals
Each day at midnight UTC, the Daily Deals tab shows five items. On that day, each of these items costs 25% less Aurum. Select Buy, then select it again to buy the item.
If the price of an item changes before you buy it, the shop tells you the new price. The shop does not take your Aurum at the old price.
Kill effects
Kill effects are new. When your attack kills a foe, the body burns away in your effect. Other players see your effect too.
There are four kill effects: Ashen Shatter, Voidrend, Daedric Pyre and Tonal Shatter.
Portal skins
Portal skins change your portals. A skin changes the portals of your companions and the gate of your Portal Stone.
There are four portal skins: Runic Stone, Daedric Stone, Aetheric Stone and Brass Gate.
Mount looks
Mount looks change the horse that you ride. There are four mount looks. Each one has its own effects when your horse moves.
Your character profile
Your character profile has new slots for a kill effect, a portal skin and a mount look. Move the pointer on a choice to see it on your character. If you do not have an item, the profile tells you how to get it.
Profile icons
There are eleven new profile icons. No icon shows a person or a creature. Six of the new icons move. If your system uses less motion, the icons do not move.
New names and auras
There are new titles, glyphs and auras. Some titles have new animated plates.
Season One: Dwemer's Breach
The first season starts on 10 November and stops on 8 January. It has three stages of 20 days.
The Battle Pass is now the Folios. Each season has two folios: the Brass Folio and the Gilded Folio. Select a folio to open it, then turn its pages to see its items.
Use Aurum to buy the items on a page. You can buy them in any order. When you buy items in a folio, its next page opens. You can see the items on a locked page before it opens.
All accounts can use the Brass Folio. Use 1,000 Aurum to unlock the Gilded Folio. You cannot buy a folio with money.
The Gilded Folio has a fourth page. It opens after you buy all the other items in the Gilded Folio. Its item is the Aetherium Wings: wings of pale blue light on your back. The item costs 2,000 Aurum.
The folios do not expire. After the season stops, you can continue to buy their items.
The world changes
Each hour, the ground shakes for a few seconds. The shake is stronger in each stage.
Brass Fissures open in each region of the Iliac Bay and in each province. Cyrodiil has no fissures. Steam flows up from the cracks. Dwemer constructs guard each fissure. The fissures show on the map.
In the third stage, the Brass Colossus moves out of the Heart Fissure in each region. Hit it before it falls to receive the Resonant Maul, one time each day. If you already have the Maul for that day, a message tells you.
Fixes and new art
If the shop gives your money back for an Aurum pack, the Aurum of that pack goes off your account. If the shop gets news of a refund before the payment, it does not give the Aurum.
The shop does not show an item before its sale starts. The shop does not sell an item that you have.
The profile portraits have new art. The shop previews show your own character.
The emblems of the kill effects, portal skins and mount looks have new art with more detail. Each emblem has a metal rim, and some emblems move. The four horse emblems show the full head of the horse in its armor.
The four mount looks have new art. Each look follows the shape of the horse, and it also changes the mane and the tail. A horse coat or a mount look does not change the rider.
The mount looks do not show pink points on the hooves. The rings of Tonal Shatter fit the body of the foe. You can see the arch of the Daedric Stone at night. The Gilded Coil has a stronger gold color.
All players see the bar of the Brass Colossus. Blades and arrows do the correct damage to it on all screens. A Colossus gives only one Resonant Maul each time it falls.
If your game stops after you receive the Maul, the game gives it to you again when you play next. The game also saves your character immediately after you receive the Maul.
If the connection to the server stops, the game sends your finds again later. You do not lose them, and the server does not count them two times.
The text of the challenge to make items is correct now. Dwemer constructs do not stand in the broken metal at a fissure.
The Crystal Spurs show their colors in your profile. If you change your account in a dungeon, a coffer gives its Aurum to the account that found it. The runes of the Vampiric Haze do not show a square edge.
