Patch Notes: Field fixes - rubber-banding in dungeons, the Raven quest, time served, friendships, booked passage
Dungeons
- Walking under certain hanging decorations no longer teleports you. In Edworyan Laboratory (Daggerfall) the hanging roots sent you back to the entrance whenever you walked beneath one; it only looked like the Teleport spell. These decorations now work only when you click or strike them, as in Daggerfall. In all, 27 such objects across Daggerfall's dungeons fired when walked into: teleports and door switches.
Quests
- "The Lost Artifact" (the Knights' lich quest) now finishes about two minutes after you report back to the knight, instead of waiting weeks of in-game time. You can choose your gear reward and the Order offers you work again. Any other quest that closes the same way is fixed too, and a quest already stuck finishes shortly after you load.
Crime and the law
- Serving a prison sentence now counts like paying a fine: once your days are served, it improves your standing with the region's law by 5, and your reputation with its people too, up to the point where the watch stops knowing your face. It mends the name you had before the arrest, not the mark the crime itself leaves, and it counts once a day. You are told when it happens. If your name was already bad before the arrest (for example, refusing the guards in "The Escort" costs 20), two sentences, two fines or two penances now clear it.
- Road patrols now leave you alone for a day after you are released, as the town watch already did.
- In a town under Curfew, a sentence now gives back the whole doubled charge instead of keeping part of it each time. Curfew also doubles only the crimes the town's watch charges you with: a crime reported on the road, or a loan you defaulted on, is no longer doubled because you happen to be standing in a Curfew town.
Friends and family
- Online, how townspeople feel about you no longer fades while you are logged out. It fades only over days you actually play (half a point a day apart), so friendships you build in an evening are still there the next time. Saves made before this get their earlier friendships back; old grudges stay as faded as they had become.
- You are told when someone comes to count you a friend - once your conversation with them ends, or when something you did for them wins them over - and whether you can court them.
- The talk window's regard badge and the Family tab now explain who can be courted and how regard grows and fades.
Booked passage
- You can no longer steer a ship you booked passage on while she is under way: the ship's master sails her. If the voyage stops (an enemy nearby, or she runs aground), you can handle her yourself until her master takes her up again. Her helm panel shows where she is bound, with the time dial and Leave the helm on it, and a controller's prompts say the same.
- Booked ships no longer try to sail onto land near docks, including the stretches of sea chart near Daggerfall that are really dry land, and they now finish the last stretch into port instead of stalling just outside the harbour.
- The ship's hull, sails and guns panel no longer covers the Overworld's travel controls, so you can see the travel speed again, and why it is slowed (for example, pirates near a harbour).
What's Changed
- FIELD BUGS 2026-10-21d (audited): flat relays off the walk, the Raven's lich closes, time served mends the name, regard on the character's own days, a booked ship is her master's by @Lattymoy in #1118
