Patch Notes: Gathering nodes glint
Gathering
- Herbs, veins, boulders, trees and fishing schools no longer wear a coloured outline. They catch the light instead: small star-shaped glints flash on the node itself and fade, and from a distance a soft sheen of light passes over it now and then.
- The light is warm daylight with a hint of the profession's colour, so you can still tell a herb from a vein at a glance.
- The node you're working goes quiet: no glints and no sheen while you pick, mine, chop or skin it, so the Basket's and the Pick-Axe's own glints are the only ones to watch.
- Up close no sheen crosses any node.
- Glints stay on the spot of the plant, vein or tree they belong to as you walk; they no longer hop about.
- Walls and rocks in front of a node hide its glint, and fog and the sea's murk fade it as they fade the node.
- With reduced motion turned on in your system, the glints hold still and no sheen crosses.
- The glints follow the light where the node stands. They are bright in daylight and dim at night, underground and in a storm, but never so dim you can't find the node. A node beside a lamp in a mine catches its light.
- The passing sheen goes out in the dark: at night, in a storm and in an unlit mine.
Performance
- Gathering nodes behind you no longer cost a full-screen pass each frame.
