macUSB v2.6 adds SD card support, previous-session log export, and an option to automatically skip the welcome screen. This update extends volume selection to older Mac OS X and OS X installers, bases media capacity requirements on source size, and improves media detection, diagnostics, and Windows installer creation.
ADDED
- Added the ability to create installation media on SD cards in built-in and external readers.
- Added the ability to export retained logs from the previous session after restarting the app through Help → Export logs from previous session....
- Added Options → Automatically skip the welcome screen, which automatically opens the analysis screen after startup checks complete successfully. The welcome screen remains visible if a helper update or automatic repair is required during startup.
- Added Dutch and Persian language support (#131, #142).
CHANGES
- The minimum required capacity of the target media or selected volume is now calculated from the installer or source image size, with a 5% allowance. Smaller sources no longer require 16 GB media by default.
- Extended support for creating installers on selected GPT/HFS+ volumes to Mac OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, and OS X Mavericks. Holding Option (⌥) while selecting a target reveals eligible volumes, allowing installation media creation without repartitioning the entire drive.
- Exported diagnostic logs are now saved as
.logfiles instead of.txtfiles.
FIXED
- Corrected the unsupported Windows and Windows Server installer messages on the analysis screen to identify the earliest supported versions: Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 R2.
- Fixed selected helper error messages not appearing in the app’s language.
- Fixed the details window disappearing after a failed helper repair.
- Fixed an error when splitting solid-compressed
install.wimfiles that could prevent Windows installation media from being created (#141).
IMPROVEMENTS
- Standardized the language and format of app and helper diagnostic messages. Messages are recorded in English regardless of the interface language.
- Improved USB drive and SD card detection and verification, clarified availability and capacity messages, and reduced unnecessary target-list refreshes.
- Added a hint to hold Option (⌥) to reveal available volumes. The hint appears after a supported macOS, OS X, or Mac OS X installer is recognized and a compatible volume is available.
- Adapted the interface layout and navigation arrow direction for right-to-left Persian.
