We are thrilled to announce the official mainnet release of the Keryx node (keryxd). This is not just a fork; it is a complete architectural divergence introducing a unique PoW algorithm, sustainable tokenomics, and our groundbreaking Optimistic Proof of Inference (OPoI) layer.
Major Architectural Changes:
Independent Network & Deep Branding: Complete separation from the legacy network. New P2P/RPC ports (22xxx), new magic messages, and a dedicated keryx: Bech32 address prefix.
New PoW Algorithm – KeryxHash: We have replaced KHeavyHash with KeryxHash. This includes a 32-byte domain salt (KERYX_MATRIX_SALT) and a custom wave_mix post-processing step (a 4-round ARX network) to ensure total network isolation and increased GPU register pressure.
Optimistic Proof of Inference (OPoI): The node now enforces the OPoI protocol. Blocks must include a valid AI inference tag (/ai:v1:) in the coinbase payload to be accepted.
Note: Following the recent IBD sync patch, OPoI validation is currently set to format-only to ensure deterministic syncing across diverse hardware. Value verification will be handled via fraud-proofs in Phase 2.
Sustainable Tokenomics: Implemented a new 200-year emission schedule featuring 4-year halvings. The genesis reward is set at 5.4 KRX per block, and a 2% protocol-level R&D allocation is now routed directly through the coinbase manager.
