Faster video exports, new screen/camera layouts, and fixes for screenshot copying, zero padding, and the colour picker.
Added
-
Screen/camera layout presets: Camera Bubble, Overlap, Side-by-Side, Presenter, Camera Only, and Screen Only. Paired layouts support left/right positioning; preview, export, saved projects, and undo/redo retain the same arrangement.
-
Video export frame-rate controls (30 or 60 fps) in Export Options and Recording settings. Existing projects retain 60 fps.
-
Faster video exports and sharing: GPU compositing uses shared IOSurface/NV12 buffers and a three-frame pipeline to overlap decoding, rendering, and hardware encoding. The two-minute heavy-effects benchmark improved from 101.2 s to 32.6 s at 1080p60 (about 3.1× faster); plain export improved from 28.4 s to 26.7 s. The optional 30 fps mode took 16.1 s. Single-run measurements and workload details are in Export performance.
-
White-outlined stemless Arrow cursor style, with a high-resolution raster and arrow-tip hotspot, starting at 2.5× size. It replaces Hand in the style picker; older Hand projects retain their appearance.
-
Face-camera aspect ratios: 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, and 4:5, with adjustable rounding, undo/redo, and matching preview/export geometry. Older projects retain their square frame.
-
Whole-video 16:10 and 4:3 presets alongside existing ratios, in a compact native menu under Background.
Fixed
-
Image editor padding now accepts 0% instead of clamping to 4%; camera effects no longer impose hidden minimum padding. General retains zero exactly.
-
Explicit No Background controls in General and both editors. Captures and previews agree on an unframed image/video; returning to a fill restores saved framing values.
-
Stabilized color-copy toast window sizing to prevent recursive SwiftUI constraint updates. Color picking retains the sampler until completion, safely converts browser/wide-gamut colors to clamped sRGB hex, and reports unsupported samples without crashing.
-
Camera Bubble and Overlap use the compact 0.5.2 camera defaults (1:1, 26% size, 25% rounding). Selecting either preset resets an elongated camera, including when reselecting the active preset.
-
Screenshot Copy stays clipboard-only (#134, follow-up to #138): All screenshot capture paths now stage privately instead of saving to the configured folder before the preview appears. Opening the editor, pinning, sharing, and dragging keep working copies inside BetterShot. Only explicit Save/Export (including the capture-and-save shortcut) writes a deliverable to the save folder.
-
Save untouched screenshots from the editor: Save now works before any edits, writes to the configured folder, and updates the associated file on subsequent saves. Copy preserves a private file reference for paste targets after the preview is dismissed.
