1.36.1: menus slide inside their own space, the wire-frame minimise is back

latest release: v1.37.0

Fixed

  • Menu and drop-down slides. In 1.36.0 a sliding menu passed over parts of the screen outside its final place, and the taskbar and anything else it crossed went blank until the slide ended. Menus and drop-down lists now slide inside their own space, over a copy of what was on the screen there, so nothing around them flickers or disappears. Under a compositor they simply appear.

  • The minimise and restore animation is the wire frame again. 1.36.0 replaced it with a flying title bar, which looked worse.

  • A menu-bar title such as File, and a menu item with a submenu, now light up before their menu slides out rather than after.

  • On a scaled desktop, a submenu opened with its underlined letter now appears beside its menu.
