New
- Start-menu banner gradient can be switched off. The Start Menu page of Taskbar and Start Menu Properties has a Gradient box. Off, the banner is one colour, halfway between its two: with the standard black and blue that is Windows 95's navy. The dithered option greys out while the gradient is off.
- Modern Light Classic and Modern Dark Classic in Display Properties: the Modern colours on the standard frame, with the classic caption buttons and glyphs (white in the dark one) under a title bar that shades from off-white to white, or from off-black to black.
Changed
- Task Manager shows memory, not the page file. The Performance tab's second gauge, its history and the status bar were Windows' commit charge, which on Linux counts every reservation and means little. They show the physical memory in use, and the Commit Charge box is now the page file really in use.
