The Modern taskbar keeps the classic height, and every running window's button is a rounded box again, the active one pressed in and marked with the accent line. The Modern close glyph is anti-aliased, so it no longer reads as a chain of dots on a dark caption.
The Start button's Tux and Distribution logo options work now. They looked for icon files that nothing shipped, and the choice was only applied when the Taskbar and Start Menu dialog committed, never at logon. Tux is drawn in, the distribution's logo is read from the system the way About Linux 2000 finds it (with Tux standing in where there is none), and the setting holds from logon and across icon-set changes. A file dropped into ~/.w2k/icons still overrides either.
