1.16.0: the Modern look

latest releases: v1.46.3, v1.46.2, v1.46.1...

A fourth look, Modern, beside the classic, Windows XP and Windows 7 Basic ones, chosen by the new Modern Light and Modern Dark schemes in Display Properties > Appearance: title bars in the window's own colour with thin Minimize, Maximize and Close glyphs (Close turns red when pressed), a one-pixel border with rounded corners and an invisible six-pixel resize margin outside it, as Windows 10 and 11 have, flat rounded buttons in dialogs, on toolbars and on the taskbar, the default button filled with the accent colour, and a plain bar with an accent line under each running window. The Appearance page has a word for people who choose it. l2kdisplay --scheme NAME applies any scheme from the command line.

Windows 7 Basic: a pinned item that is not running is its icon alone on the bar, boxed only under the pointer, as Windows 7 shows it; and the bar's top edge now runs behind the Start orb, whose skins carry a real alpha channel instead of a baked-in patch of bar.
