Jobee'sLair 0.5.4

The PS5's own keyboard, typing from your phone, a rebuilt phone companion, and fixes for downloads that failed only after hours of waiting.

New

  • The PS5 keyboard. Search, links and TorBox or AllDebrid keys open the console's own keyboard, in your language. Prefer the store's keys, with results as you type? Settings > Look & feel.
  • Type on your phone. Whenever the console asks you to type something, the same box shows on the phone companion. Paste it there and press Send. Close, or Back on the phone's remote, closes the PS5 keyboard.
  • Phone companion, rebuilt. Downloads and installs move live, in the console's language. New on the phone: your Library with Fix it, removing Homebrew apps, picking a game's source, your TorBox and AllDebrid keys, the speed limit, updates, and more buttons on the remote.
  • Get the link on your phone. For a download waiting on a host's check: open the page on your phone, pass the check, paste the link, and the console downloads it.
  • Started for players. A game's details show how many consoles it started on, overall and on your firmware. The count comes from players with Share anonymous stats on, with no console ID. Settings > About says exactly what is sent.
  • Easier to see where you are. A bolder focus frame on every screen, Homebrew tiles and the Browse menu included.

Fixed

  • A 7z the console can't unpack is caught before the download, not after it (128 GB, for one of you). The next source is tried if there is one.
  • Choose another source replaces a Retry that could never work (an archive the console can't unpack, a wrong password, missing parts).
  • Games packed as an image inside an archive install. Ones stuck on "Install requested" fix themselves the next time Jobee'sLair opens. Thanks to qtrcipher for the report.
  • About 60 exFAT games listed in parts install. Each part was a whole image: part 1 is installed and the rest aren't downloaded.
  • A tiny file instead of the game is refused, and too little room is caught as unpacking starts, not hours in.
  • Unpacking shows the real size and time left instead of sitting at 99%.
  • A game that froze says so in Why won't it start?, instead of showing only an error code.
  • Orbit Store's Mac download is gone from its files. Installing it always failed.
  • No crash while lots of pictures load, symbols and emoji show in names, long text in Settings and What's new is shown whole, and no stray "?" after Homebrew names in Arabic and Urdu.

Installing

On 0.5.2 or 0.5.3: open Jobee'sLair and it offers 0.5.4. Download it, then Restart to apply.

Fresh install: copy JobeesLair.exfat to /data/homebrew over FTP (close Jobee'sLair first if you're replacing it) and launch it. You don't need update.zip.

Something wrong? Settings > About & credits > Report a bug, or post in the Discord.
