Please first use our new online patching page to install: https://smash64.online/remix

If that causes issues, follow the instructions below:

Download and unzip the Smash Remix release file
Take your legally acquired ROM and drag it onto the appropriate icon for your operating system
Example: Windows users, drag your ROM onto windows-drag-here (or windows-drag-here.bat)
Read any dialog windows that pop-up
Find your patched ROMs in the output directory

Special note for OSX users:
Apple has stronger restrictions on running unsigned apps from the Internet. You must perform an extra step before you can drag your ROM onto osx-drag-here. You can see more information here. I recommend the following:

CHARACTERS

• Sonic
    Neutral Special
    - Slightly less speed and a steeper angle when not homing

    Up Special
    - Height reduced
    - Sonic can act sooner after up special
    - Sonic can double jump after doing a grounded up special
    - Spring lasts longer (3s -> 4s)

    Down Special
    - Sonic can act earlier after jumping
    - Sonic act earlier after going off edges
    - Charging requires less inputs, ground speed cap increased slightly
    - Added weak multi-hit hitbox while charging
    - Retains less Y velocity when starting the move

    Forward Tilt
    - Low angled ftilt reaches lower
    - Damage increased by 1

    Up Tilt
    - Damage decreased by 2

    Back Air
    - Faster second hit
    - Smaller hitboxes
    - Less active frames on both hits

    Down Air
    - Has 2 less hits at the end

    Attributes
    - Air speed reduced (39 -> 37.5)
    - Hurtbox adjusted to be more consistent during spin/ball moves

    - Special Fall air speed multiplier increased from 0.6 to 0.82
    - CSS image updated

    - Star Fox characters with reflectors are better at shield breaking and punishing
    - Mad Piano will not try short hop dair or up special to attack
    - Bowser will not short hop SD
    - Less likely to spam charge attacks

• CPU Sonics will not do a down special close to the ledge

• CPU Super Sonics attacks will connect more reliable

• CPU Giga Bowser will not attempt grabbing

• CPU Dedede will not attempt up special as an offensive option

• CPU Falco will use grounded neutral special

• CPU Sheik
    - No longer attempts up special as an offensive option
    - Uses down special more effectively
    - Less likely to SD
