This is primarily a polish and reliability release. Calino is still evolving, but the overall experience is settling into a much better state.
Android
- Updated native Android preview. The latest native Android APK (
v0.1.1) is included with this release. It uses the same app identity as the older APK and will likely install over it, so take care and make sure anything important is backed up before upgrading. Follow the development of the native app over at calino-android. - Note, unlike the previous release, this one is not debug, so performance should be better.
Changed
- Subscribed
.icscalendars no longer fire the publisher's reminders
(#165). Google and
most other iCal feeds includeVALARM; Calino was scheduling those like
events you created, with no way to turn them off short of hiding the
calendar. New subscriptions mute by default. Existing ones go quiet on
upgrade — open the subscription in Settings → Sync → Edit if you wanted
those alarms. The event form and preview no longer show reminder chips
that will not fire. Android may still ring a previously mirrored alarm
until Calino next opens and rewrites the device calendar.
Added
- Edit for calendar subscriptions. The row is no longer only Sync now /
Remove: Edit reopens the subscribe modal so you can fix a name, URL,
colour, refresh interval, proxy, or the mute toggle without deleting and
re-adding. Changing the URL re-fetches into the same calendar. Preconfigured
feeds keep their URL locked.
Fixed
- A queued edit no longer retries with the ETag the server just rejected
(#163). When a direct
write failed with412 Precondition Failed, the retry was replayed from a
snapshot still carrying that dead ETag, so it 412'd by construction — and
that doomed request consumed the one stale-ETag recovery attempt the retry
gets. The retry now sends the ETag the local store holds for the resource,
falling back to the snapshot only when the event is gone from the store.
